Is it really that crazy? I thought most thought this type of a scheduling outcome was highly likely.
It’s crazy in that they’re still trying to go for it and salvage what they can, it’s giving off powerful “this is fine” energy.

I guess... the system apparently has a lot more people that want it work at some capacity than detractors. It’s probably very hard to see that if you live in New England.

Yep, IDK, might only get one more weekend of football at this pace. IDK
I’m so conflicted watching these games, like I want to watch football but at the same time I don’t feel like they should be playing because of everything going on.

Finally, someone mentions the deep psychological impact of institutional behavior. The freaking coaches could have taken a year off with no pay and survived.

Interesting to see CBSSN has a clear hole in their saturday line up showing rodeo at 7pm rather than a game.
You go to a McDonald’s or Dunkin Donuts and we have ten of thousands of them nationwide and many of these places never closed during Covid. Members of the employee’s families get Covid and they have to quorintine, coworkers get exposed and they have to quarantine. Some get Covid themselves and some stores temporily shutdown and then reopen. But, they deal with it and for the most part move on.

Michigan is getting thumped by Wisconsin. I've never liked Harbaugh or his recruiting gimmicks and he's the only reason I root against Michigan every week. I think it's too late for him to save his job but it wouldn't surprise me if he fired Don Brown in an attempt to do so. Michigan is down 28 with 10 minutes left in the 2nd and have 6 total yards on offense. He'd have to kick the OC too I guess.

Harbaugh’s got Michigan fans yearning for those halcyon Rich Rod days

So about 70%-75% of the scheduled games were played.

Not ideal but still allowed for a large majority of games to be played.

Still not seeing any news about games being played linked to outbreaks amongst players, coaches, stadium staff or fans.

Yes, teams have had outbreaks throughout the season but so have universities as a whole and as others have mentioned the general population.

Americans are fine with having some games played, other games cancelled. No one is suggesting this is normal.

I am all for all bowl games outside the CFB Playoff games being cancelled. I would suggest the rest of the bowls fear if this happens the cloak of absurdity for most of these bowl games' existence is exposed and seceral of them have to fold in the near future.

I like watching the bowl games. Provides for some interesting matchup that otherwise would not be had. Let's face it, the tv money is what drives them so at least it provides more entertainment. I read an article the other day where a couple unnamed coaches indicated that every year they typically deal with guys being out and spreading of "bugs" thru the team. The difference here is they shut it down. I think the season has progressed better than expected.
