Week 10 - Other Games

Just watched this game. There should be a rule that neither team has to get a win in a college basketball game, and it should be applied today in Knoxville.

Tennessee missed about 8 wide-open layups. Kentucky turned it over 20 times, tried to give the game away in every possible away and the Vols refused to take it.

Providence learning the challenge of playing on the road in the Big East. Hopkins just drove, gave a shoulder to his man and was called for a charge. The kind of call he usually gets at the Dunk. He was pissed about the call, said the magic word to the ref and got T'd up.

EDIT: Turns out the tech was on Cooley...sure looked like they initially called it on Hopkins.

That is the kind of high quality road win Kentucky needed.

3 ranked teams have played today, all lost. 3 are at halftime, all may lose.

A little perspective I hope for some people on this board. But probably not, as only Dan Hurley losses game.

Great game on ESPN+ with 15-1 Florida Atlantic trying to protect their 14 game winning streak against 14-3 North Texas (KenPom #59).

North Texas has command of the game but FAU only down three with 13 to go. Sell out crowd at FAU.

So much fun watching how FAU coach Dusty May in how he basically plays with four true guards on the floor all the time (their starting 4 guard is 6'4 203).

No points for Gaffney yet.

New word in bama game, "gravitability". Pulling the D player into you as you take your shot,

it’s almost like terrible officiating can impact the outcomes of games.
I didn't see the UK-Tenn game, but checked the box score. Tenn put up more shots and more threes, UK shot under 40%, but had a wide margin on the glass. But the most interesting stat was that UK took 15 more FTs than Tenn. And made 15 more FTs than Tenn... in Tenn's building.

That's something I haven't seen in the BE.

Other losers:
#15 Arkansas
Not the same team without Nick Smith (out indefinitely) and Trevon Brazile (out for the year). Two of their top four scorers plus frontcourt has way less upside without Brazile.

It's a cascading effect, too. The starters are worse, and also now they have to play bench guys who suck.

Massive one-point home win for my alma mater Binghamton against the America East front runner UMass Lowell, who are having a heck of a season and who Lunardi has penciled in as the automatic qualifier.
