Utah got blown out by Kansas St. Can't say I was expecting that. 71-47. Fell behind big early and were never really in it.

Usc now with road wins at UConn and MD. Who’s got better road wins than that?

Nebraska gets a nice win against Michigan St. Big game for Markowski.
She seems to have really good games against them. Michigan State having that poor 2nd quarter didn't help them either.

UNLV gets Round 1 vs. Colorado St. in Vegas. Rematch 2/22 @ CSU's place.

Even though Maryland lost, I think they showed that they can compete with the upper tier of teams this season. Now, I'm not in the "potential Final Four" team camp like this poster but I don't think they're over rated. These upcoming games will help to answer those questions.

Md with a bunch of bad O decisions down the stretch.
They were who they thought they were. Maryland let'em off the hook.

JuJu and KSmith clutch down the stretch. Sellers and Poffenberger after building the lead just could not close.

Fun game. U$C just ice cold shooting (and outdoors), but hung around til crunch time.

Juju and Iriafen both scored 21, but not the most efficient shooting. Looking at stats it jumped out at me that Howell and Heckel scored 10 each off the bench, on a combined 7-11 shooting and 3-5 from deep. That must've had some impact. Rest of the team was 2-10 behind the arc.

Terps could have 4+ losses by the end of the month.

Yep, someone has to step up to join the magnificent 7. Will it be Duke, Oklahoma, Kansas State, the Ohio State, Maryland or...?

I'll guess Oklahoma at this point, but K State and OSU had nice wins tonight. Duke big game tomorrow.

Maryland doesn’t run any offense. A pass, or two on occasion, a few dribbles… then a shot. Little ball movement. They stayed in the game ‘cause they have some good athletes. I’ll bet they had fewer than 10 assists.

The balance of their schedule for January includes Wisconsin and Minnesota along with Texas, Oklahoma and UCLA.

Texas and Oklahoma games are toss ups from what I've watched of all three teams. The UCLA game I see them losing. Wisconsin needs to find more scoring to combat the double and triple teams Serah Williams is facing. Minnesota has been playing well, but are they ready to knock off a top 10 team?

Four losses is possible. More than four this month seems like a stretch.

Exactly. Their whole freshman class is really good. They are super fiery and competitive. Howell who started off the year slow is making shots like expected now. And Heckel has played well given minutes all season. Kennedy Smith continues to be an invaluable piece. I also thought Juju trusted her teammates throughout the game which was a really good sign. Like she gave the ball up to them in key moments. And kinda underrated, though they pointed it out on the broadcast, usc doesn't really have a weak defender. They really have improved defensively this season and have big guards and wings that make things difficult.

I did think Sellers and Dalce outplayed Juju and Kiki. But Smikle who has been so good and efficient this year had a rough night and the others who often find a way to contribute were not efficient as well. Not a bad loss for Maryland but it was kinda the way I thought they'd lose.

I think final four is a bit of a stretch, but I agree with the general sentiment. They showed they’re deserving of the top-10 ranking, or close to it, which I wasn’t convinced of.

Re Vowelguy’s remarks above about their offense: at least they’re consistent. I haven’t seen much of the Terps this year, but every time I watch them, I just think, they’ve got a lot of talent, if they just had some sort of cohesiveness on offense, they could be really good. Brenda either needs to get an offensive coach with a clue, or if she already has one, she needs to listen.

Agreed, however this team is still working out the kinks. Considering this team includes 7 transfers, with several who are starters, they've meshed well enough to be ranked where they are.

BOOOO to the SEC network scheduling gods. Just dawned on me that Alabama vs Oklahoma is on SEC+ versus the main network today.

Instead they'll broadcast hourly repeats of SEC Now. For what reason? To further discuss how most of the SEC representatives for the CFP bit the big one?

I'm amazed at the small number of games being broadcast tonight. LSU-Tennessee is on SEC+ too, Cal-NCState on ACCExtra. The only good game being broadcast is Duke-UNC, although that should be a really really fun game.

Speaking of Duke-UNC, I'm curious as to the status of Fournier after that hit she took during the Boston College game. Impression I got from the announcers during their game Sunday is that her timeline to return was unknown :(

I get Wake Forest v ND on ACC Extra as a regular game by logging in with my cable provider.
