Week 1 games (Nov. 25-29)

Congrats to Georgia on a solid win against Georgia Tech. Tremendous performance for Staiti and Morrison. Coombs was a nice spark off the bench.

South Carolina and Gonzaga is tied w/ a bit less than 5 minutes left. ESPN wiped out the box score. Last I saw one of the Wirth twins from GU was outproducing Boston.

edit--not even close, Boston has 8 points on 3-5 shooting and 2 boards; Jen Wirth has 16 on 7-9 and 4 boards.

Is that game being televised? I don't see it listed on the WatchESPN app.

Kudos to South Dakota and Gonzaga...but is South Carolina possibly overrated to start the season?
Maybe, but who else would you put at #1 to start the season?

I don’t think they’re quite as good without Harris and Herbert-Harrigan.

I also think Gonzaga is criminally underranked. They have so much talent.

Oregon, despite playing a very bad team looks really good to start the year. They honestly look like the best team so far. Louisville looks very solid too, their freshmen Cochran and Van Lith are doing well.

SC is a good team but obviously still trying to find their identify right now. Gonzaga isn't a bad team though, there aren't a cream puff, they have some solid players.

Some of the slow starts are probably due to the crazy offseason. Its still too early to conclude much

I can understand why they started there in the polls, but they aren't really playing like a #1. They dominated South Dakota in Q3. Other than that, about 7 quarters of playing even w/ a pair of mid majors.

These things happen, but not surprisingly huge FTA discrepancy in South Carolina's favor. Zags are taking more 3's by a wide margin.

Looks like South Carolina pulling away down the stretch.

GU Kayleigh Truong missed 3 Free Throws and one TO now 66 - 74.

Not a good finishing kick by GU.

27-15 fouls and 31-9 FTA both in South Carolina's favor.

edit--of course Zags are 3-9 from the charity stripe so not getting more trips there might have been doing them a favor

ND is up by 15 at the half. Maybrey has 0 points, 0 shots and 2 fouls.

The zags kept it much closer than I thought they would

Henderson with a very good game shooting

SC- Gonz. - Boy, both these teams should work more on their free throw shooting.

PLUS - 41 FT's for SC - Really? Must have made any game flow impossible.

How many offensive rebounds did GU just give up? From play by play it looks like South Carolina got 6 FTs in one possession. Now up to a whopping 41-11 edge.

The game isn’t quite over yet, but has anyone else seen this stat line from Charli Collier?!

Just about every team in the country will struggle with Gonzaga and South Dakota especially this early in the season. If you haven’t noticed the Mid Majors are playing very well to start this season so I’m not sure what point your trying to make there.

I can guarantee SC will be a very tough team to beat later in the season with all these tough opponents in the schedule. Better to beat tough teams than blowout cupcake opponents...
