NCAA will release its list of the current top 4 seeds and the next 16.

My prediction:

#1s -- UConn, So Car, ND, Tenn

Next 16 (unordered):
- Oregon St, Arizona St, Cal, Stanford
- Baylor, Oklahoma
- Maryland, Iowa, Rutgers
- Miss St, Kentucky
- Florida St, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse
- Princeton

I would think Nebraska and Texas A&M before Syracuse or Cal. or Oklahoma

I would think Nebraska and Texas A&M before Syracuse or Cal. or Oklahoma

I looked over all the resumes. Syr/Cal/Okla/Stan were the last 4 I included.

Texas A&M -- Good wins: None / Best win: LSU / So-so Losses: Washington, Texas, Georgia
Nebraska -- Good wins: None / Best win: Michigan / So-so L: Minnesota / Bad Loss: Alabama

Syracuse -- Good wins: UNC / So-so L: None / Bad Loss: Mich St (also <5 Loss to SC, Bay, ND)
Cal -- Good wins: @Az St / Split with Wash / Bad Loss: LBSU, Kansas

Cal may be a bit thin, but seems like they are coming in the PAC, where they're currently tied for 2nd.
Oklahoma is all but sure to finish 2nd in the B12, so if a second team from the conference gets in the top 20 it will be them.

The last few picks are difficult; they could easily go to some other team. But I think Syracuse has built a pretty solid resume and that Nebraska hasn't.

I agree.

My top 20:
1. Uconn
1a. Uconn
1b. Uconn
2. Notre Dame
3. South Carolina
4. Baylor (peaking at the right time)
5. Tennessee
6. Maryland
7. Florida State
8. Oregon State
9. Kentucky
10. Arizona St
11. Princeton
12. Duke
13. Miss. State
14. Unc
15. Iowa
16. Louisville
17. Rutgers
18. Texas
19. George Washington
20. Stanford (only ranked win was against Uconn)

I chose George Washington over Texas and Texas A&m because they are getting the job done in conference 10-0. A&m top wins are against Depaul and Duke, and I couldn't put Texas in my top 20 simply because of the 4-6 conference record although they have a better resume.

Nebraska beat Duke.

Why no Baylor as a 1-seed? Don't see the logic for Tenn over Baylor at all. If anyone would supplant Baylor, I think it would be Maryland.

Based on their 2 pt wins over Syracuse and Texas?
I expect higher quality wins from a 1 seed.

Fair, but they will get the 1-seed. Human polls, RPI, computers all have them in the top 4. Well, Massey has them at 5.

Look at the resume.

Bay beat Tx which beat tenn, while tn beat ky which beat bay -- a wash
Tenn lost to Nd. Bay has not played remotely as good as nd, so I'm not going to penalize the vols.

Thus, compare:
(A) wins over Oregon st, Stanford, Rutgers, miss st, and tex am with a loss to chatt
(B) Wins over Syracuse and a 2nd win over tx.

For me A is clearly better.

That all makes sense. There's a perfectly good case Tennessee is the #4 team in the nation.

But you framed it as a prediction, and Baylor will be one of the 1 seeds on tomorrow's list. I'm not saying I think it's right, I'm just saying it will happen.

So TAMU beating Duke wasnt a good win ?

sad cat.gif

So I missed Neb AND Tamu beating Duke??

2 possible explanations:
1) I guess Triad or Cam took over my brain, and they've blocked out those events.
2) Duke just has so many losses this year that it's hard to keep track of all of them. :)

I would love a rematch with either...... even with our decimated roster

I got the 4 #1s, but only 16 of the top 20.
Rutgers, Miss St, Syr, and Princeton didn't make it. While Wash, TxA&M, UNC, and GW did.

The selection committee had their heads up their ****'s leaving out Princeton.

Perfectly OK cause Princeton will beat anyone in any bracket. They'll be in the middle of the bracket anyway. I just hope UCONN will meet them in the Final Four or NC.

Oklahoma lost again last night...
