It’s not South Carolina, but UConn women’s basketball team will face challenge at DePaul
This isn’t the matchup that UConn fans were expecting this week. But for a team still dealing with injuries, it might be a better fit. The UConn women’s basketball team, ranked 10th in the latest Associated Press poll, will face DePaul Wednesday night in Chicago following the cancellation of its scheduled game at top-ranked South Carolina Thursday. The Huskies (11-4, 6-0 Big East) had been scheduled to play at DePaul on Dec. 31, but that game was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the UConn program. It’s not South Carolina, but UConn women’s basketball team will face challenge at DePaul

DePaul’s biggest weapon is in freshman Aneesah Morrow. She's the real deal!! The 6-foot-1 forward is tied for No. 1 in the nation with 15 double doubles and she’s ranked No. 1 in offensive rebounds per game (5.3). She’s second with 12.5 rebounds per game and No. 4 with 406 total points on the season. The Blue Demons enter on a four-game win streak. Their only Big East loss came against Marquette on Jan. 12 (88-85 in overtime). DePaul has lost fairly close games to three AP Top 25 programs: No. 20 Notre Dame (91-86 on Dec.22), No. 9 Arizona (75-68 on Nov. 26) and No. 24 Texas A&M (95-75 on Nov. 15). DePaul’s only win over a Top 25 program was against No. 14 Kentucky (94-85) on Dec. 9.
