Wednesday. Biggest game in Hartford since when?

If the rules haven't changed from the original Big East, we'd be the hifger seed. Our loss outside of head to head was to a team with a better in conference record. PC needs to gain three games on Creighton to tie them in the standings.

I think people are using the result of the Marquette game to downplay it, it was #1 vs #4 and the two best teams in the conference
I vaguely remember Fox main channel had the game, but did a horrible job promoting it. They pushed like #24 Illinois at #19 Michigan St commercials all week for the 8p game.

It was a huge game and a great time, and the fans did their part. But no one thought we might lose and we virtually never trailed. There is a certain urgency to this game like there was vs. Nova in 22. I expect a lot of energy in PBA arena

Yea they predetermined before the season who got the primetime slot that day, think it was Mich st vs Michigan. UConn vs Marq was on Fox during the afternoon slot.

My interpretation of the thread is about hype and anticipation heading into the game, not how the game played out.

I see what you are saying. If the Marquette game was close XL would have been thunderous. I hope we get a similar result Wednesday.

If we beat St. John's and then we both win out, St. John's gets the top seed in the BET, correct?
It depends what Providence and Creighton do the rest of the way. Right now, Creighton is way ahead, which is good for St. John's. If those two teams finish tied in BE, we would win the tiebreaker in all likelihood (NET rating, which we are way ahead in and in this hypothetical we beat St. John's so they're unlikely to bridge the gap). If Providence is ahead we auto win the top BET seed.

In our benefit, Providence has some decently easy games left. If we beat St. John's on Wednesday and Providence beats Xavier at home on Tuesday, then Providence at Creighton becomes a massive game for tiebreaker purposes and we'd be rooting for Providence.

Wouldn’t that be something - us becoming PC fans.

I was at that game. That was the first time in UConn's program they had ever been ranked #1 and they played that game in front of a national audience on CBS only to get their ass destroyed. Kerry Kittles' 37 point performance was one of the best individual performances I had ever seen at a UConn venue, Gampel or Hartford, ever and that includes UConn players. He destroyed Ray Allen in that game.
I have the Courant "1 and 1" headline before that game framed.

Just a heads up to those heading to the game tomorrow night. I just fell flat on my butt trying to figure out a route from Constitution plaza to the arena. The city has not cleared the walkways at intersections or even the area around the walk buttons. I don’t understand. The storm was basically on a weekend. There was nobody coming into Hartford yesterday and it seems pretty empty today so clearing should not be an issue due to traffic.

Early bird, eh? 😉

😀 No, just we park at my wife’s building and walk to the arena from there. I was so sore from all the snow shoveling yesterday and didn’t work out at the gym at lunch today. So I wanted to take a walk just to get some fresh air and keep moving after staring at three computer monitors all day.

Who downplays TNew? He was on the wall when the plane from Phoenix landed
@HW611

I've heard anything from he's a product of talent around him, to he should have been let go after 23 so AJX could come back......

FWIW, they had Headway as one of the two dollar beers last Friday.
