The Peoples Bank 10 year deal which was signed in 2002 was worth about $10 million . Hopefully this new deal is for more $$.
Actually, according to Manuel, 30 mil is needed to start. 36 mil has been raised. So, they can start now. Manuel has said the next big donation will put them at 40 Mil. We should have that in time for completed construction, which should be in 2 years. Hopefully construction starts early in the fall. The Hartford Courant reported today that UConn has 90% of the monies needed to start the building process. The estimated amount of the project is now 40MM, they need 30MM to start leaving 3MM in order to begin.

Not too many banks, in the Northeast, would give this kind of support to old state U. Or, any U, big or small. What this tells me is our friends at PC, UMess, and bcu will be wrong in calling for UConn's big time status to end after sanctions, the APR situation, and Calhoun's eventual retirement. Money talks, and with this money, UConn will find ways to continue winning no matter who's coaching.
Now, let's see these other complaining northeastern institutions keep up, with us in on, and off, the court/field.

Could well be Webster's support is designed in the form of certain guaranteed advertising, either to be prepaid or scheduled along with construction needs. But does anyone really care about advertising appearing in the practice facility??? No, including Webster Bank.No joke Im switching my bank to Webster and letting their staff know I solely signed up because of their deal with UConn...call me stupid... or loyal.
This is the way Manual was quoted in Friday's Courant. He stated that they need 75% of the 40 mil to start (30mil) and they've raised 90% (36 mil). Perhaps it's a misquote, or Webster has given over 15 mil. Financial terms were not disclosed, but if Manual's quote was accurate, Webster gave around 15 mil.Yonick,
When did Warde M. ssay anything like that. The Courant is speculating the cost of the building will be in the 40mm range. We are not even close to having raised 25mm let alone 36mm.
