Weak Spots Moving Forward

High Heaven? Because he missed a FG and we don't have a return for TD yet???

Yeah the specialists have been terrible. Maybe they can actually do something before we crown it a 'strength'. The punting is at a high school level.

He also played a much tougher schedule in an offense that wasn't designed to rack up stats

That's not how QB rating works. Tyler Lorenzen had a QB rating of 190 in the bowl game vs. Buffalo. 4-6 passing for 49 yards and a TD.

It doesn't matter what your offense is designed to do. It's how efficient the QB is.

It's a 3 win team with seniors all over the 2 deep with no idea who might play quarterback next season.

But yeah no worries. I'm sure Diaco's recruiting classes will step up and hello 8-4.

You are kidding right?

This is a poor troll job. Do better.

This is embarrassing.

Wait. You are serious about ZF maybe better?

Wait. You are serious about ZF maybe better?

I'm going to take the high road and assume this is just poor trolling and you aren't nearly as dumb as your #mathishard hashtag would indicate.

Good luck to your orangemen the rest of the year.

When your specialists stink to high heaven how does having them back generate a strength?

If people think this team has turned a corner or is near turning a corner it's going to get even more painful around here.
Because Graham is a redshirt freshman and will improve leg strength(or Migliazzi will adjust and take over) and Tarbutt will have a year of experience behind him. This is college- not the pros- kids improve from year to year usually.

half of our starting lineup is freshmen or sophs. We need some help in the front 6, no doubt. we need a couple of o-linemen to step up. we need another TE. Our recruiting looks like HCRE already knew all of that and is stocking up in the right places. I hope we can pull in a juco/transfer or two, looking at LB, DL and OL. But I expect more true freshmen to play than usual again next season. I don;t care as long as we win.

I'll play along with you on this.
QB - Pindell, Washington and McAfee. Pindell was the annointed starter and the other guys were highly recruited. We will be fine here.
RB has Mensah, Hopkins and Freshmen - not sure if Thompson is back so we should be OK.
TE has Jay Rose and Fitton - based on this offense that is fine.
WR- everyone is back and more
OL - Peart, Van Demark, Crozier and DeGeorge are back plus all the guys that Redshirted and Leone. Now a strength from a numbers standpoint and 1 year away from being a strength.
ST - Everyone is back- should be better
DL- needs a rebuild. You have Murphy and Caleb Thomas at NG and Freeborn, Garson, Lawley, Atkins, Brouse and Okounam back. Need JUCO's here.
LB - Beavers, Britton, Gilmartin, Santana, Levenberry, TJ Gardner, Eddie Hahn, Eli Thomas and Rhakim Williams, are back. These guys have more speed abut little experience. Growing pains here.
DB- everyone is back but Jamar Summers and Tre Bell. We will be better based off of experience. I think Fortt, Herring-Wilson, Coyle, Swenson have something. I would love to see Rob King and Brayden Brown as well. I think the talent is there- it needs time to mature.(Case in point, how baaad was Obi his first 2 years or so in coverage? Turned out ok by senior year!!)

The key offensively is keeping Lashlee. Defensively, if we don't fix the trenches up front, it won't matter.

Interesting to see how the rest of the recruiting goes.....
Does anyone know what happened to Robinson at CB? Thought kid played pretty good last year but no where to be found on depth chart this year. Maybe he's hurt?

Graham appears to be playing over Magliozzi right now solely because Magliozzi dropped a snap during warmups vs. HC...Graham has shown flashes but I would not pencil him in as the starter for the next three years.

Agreed, very peculiar that Edsall put a Diaco walk-on onto the 2 deep ahead of him.

Looks like we will have 2 decent redshirt fresh O- lineman in Stanley Hubbard III, DC, 6'3" 309 and Robert Holmes, FL, 6'3" 350. Also true freshman giant, Travis Jones from Wilber Cross. 6'6" 350

The kicker isn’t that good. 3-5 and the misses aren’t From 55 and 58. And one cost the game. And if you doubt where this team is I can’t recall more true freshmen playing ever.

The quarterback situation is not as worrying right now in s I think Pindell will be fine next year and the 2 freshmen are really good players. We will probably bring in someone else this year too. The only issue is that quarterbacks don’t stick around if they aren’t #1.

I'm not convinced that BS is better than Fraser yet.

I'm not convinced he's the best QB on this roster. Experience matters, and I'm not questioning him as the starter. He has done well. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if McAfee and Washington ended up better. Maybe Pindell too.
