We get few offensive rebounds (4). We give up many offensive rebounds (18).

The TO battle looks even. But many of ours are live ball TOs which lead to lay ups.

We got to the FT line 5 times. Stanford got there 23.

We dont offense rebound, we give up a lot, we don't get to the line, we foul a lot, we give up live TOs..

Yet... there are folks on this board who think defense is the problem. Defense is not the problem. Every team gives up points and lay ups. Our "D' is pretty good. The problem is that the other guys get may more chances on offense than us. Many, many more.

offense = talent. its an issue. hamilton has nice versatility but was horrid and is 3 years away from being an nba player if that happens. we need bucket getters, an injured boat has started to expose us. we are done unless we win this AAC tourney. stinks, but next year we will be better though.

Pal, you don't get it. It's the refs fault. Nelson said so. If we were in the New Big East we would get more calls

it took 3 years for bazz to get to where he was, 3 years for daniels to get to where he was, 3 years for boat to get to where he is, 4 years for giff to get to where he was... they all had experience, we have the talent but no one on this team has experience except for boat...no one wants the ball except for boat, hamilton and brimah... i agree next year we will be much better

No question the refs sucked. But this game followed a familiar trend. And if Ollie got a technical after the BS foul on Brimah in the first 20 minutes, maybe that would help.

But the problem is the offense. Lousy shots leading to opponent fast breaks. Our fast break leading to nothing. Our offense is the biggest problem for our defense.

our turnovers are unforced and that needs to be corrected quickly, way too many and too many sloppy ones... the FT arent for a lack of trying boat, hamilton, brimah, and purvis attacked the rim but got nothing especially boat... this was our worse rebounding game as a whole, we've had 2/3 very bad rebounding games all year i believe (duke, stanford, wvu(?)) and brimah couldnt stay on the floor but played well when he was in... I thought the first half and 10 minutes into the second our offense looked good, the open shots we were hitting in the first we weren't hitting in the second and missed a bunch of bunnies at the rim... facey had to cover a true 5 when brimah was out and was outmatched due to the height, weight, and experience... it's more about toughness than anything, they need to come out and start being the aggressor... i would like to see full court press from the start and more omar in the second half

This team is sloppy. The come out sloppy. Then they tighten up in the second half. Then get sloppy again in the last five minutes. That is every game in a nutshell.

Bazz was there from day one. We don't have a day one contributor on this roster.

Not for nothing but on day 1 Giffey was a valuable player.

Giffey had some nice contributions early in the 2010/2011 season, but was pretty much invisible until the national championship game that year.

All in he made 40% of his threes and almost 80% of his free throws.

There was some variance like any shooter but the guy could play.

Last 6 games we're averaging 58.8 ppg and that certainly won't get you many W's.

Besides lack of inside/fast break/easy scoring, the team's reliance on dribble penetration at the expense of a real half-court offense has come back to haunt us. Last year, when we had four 3-point shooters and 2 excellent dribble penetrating guards we could get away with it. UConn has got to lead the nation in amount of dribbles per half-court possession, if such a stat exists. With talented one-on-one players, we're tough to defend but that ain't the case this season. May be time to hire an "offensive coordinator" as we're just too easy to defend.

We are a horrid offensive team; the worst UConn squad I can remember. There is one guy you can truly trust with the ball and he has been criticized as a ball stopper for four years. Other than Boat all of our guards are below avg handlers and turnover prone. We over dribble and without Boat in the game struggle to get good shots and sometimes even complete passes. Our big men are not consistent threats. Amida has improved immeasurably but is so foul prone (especially against good comp) that his contributions are often limited. Just a really bad offensive team ; so much pressure is then applied to our D and any breakdown is magnified.

If we do have so many below average ballhandlers (which I agree with), then why not run an offense that requires less dribbling???
