The hottest team wins it all, not necessarily the best team.

91 UNLV and 99 Duke are 2 of the top teams in the last 45 years, both lost in the finals.

Teams will never get full credibility unless they make the final 4. For many people they need to win it all to achieve greatness.

Uconn is better than the 99 team no matter what happens on Saturday. Uconn is clearly better than the 04 team, it isn't even close. 04 team of course is way more talented for sure. The best team, the hottest team, and the most talented upside are 3 different things.

How the hell has there not been a "UConn" username registered here in the past 26 years?

Congrats on being first, I guess.

First off, doomed!

Second, it is terrible mojo.

Third, we haven't won anything yet in my opinion. Title or bust.

Are you saying this team wouldn't beat an nba team?

2 greatest teams I ever saw were the 1990 unlv team and the 96 Kentucky team. This team , for what it has accomplished and how they have done it is up there with 04 and 99. They win it and they are greatest UConn team ever. Simple. They don’t win it and they are in the discussion.

4th, there have been undefeated champions. We have three losses.
In full agreement that this is not time to have a discussion that assumes we are going to win another championship. But putting UConn aside, when you are comparing teams from different eras, it’s not as simple as wins and losses. It is much, much harder to go undefeated today than years ago for a number of reasons. Just to name two, TV dollars push you to tougher OOC schedules, and conferences have more depth because good players know that multiple teams can go dancing.

The greatest team to me was that Georgetown team that loss to a hot shooting Villanova team in the championship.. that’s the only way we loss is if a team gets really hot from the 3 point line

As long as when we're done we end the blue blood narrative.

We're not blue bloods, defined by entitlement and nepotism.

We're red blooded DAWGS. Past time to embrace it.

Doomed is part of the mojo! And everything @shizzle787 said is correct! Bad mojo to think otherwise.

Even worse when it comes from a fraidy-cat who calls somebody a "sissy," but hides from posters he puts on Ignore when their criticisms - based in reality, including his own words & behaviors - threaten his out-of-touch, delusional, self-aggrandizing, wannabe-authoritarian hogwash.

Crybully poster child, a legit once-was, who can't accept that being a valued member of a we-first team means buying into the larger purpose, which includes making solid contributions like post #12, but not assigning to them any meaning that may once have made sense. Times have changed, as, ironically, he claims with zero self-awareness.

The only thing more foolhardy than "greatest team" talk is anybody angling to claim it was their earliest prediction, their news scoop, or their singular contribution as anything more than being part of the magnificent whole.

We ALL pull the sled.

Love the team.
Watch the games.
Experience the magic.
Share the joy with others.

The only thing certain is that a game is scheduled for Saturday, and that there will be no additional games for anybody after Monday. Figure out what it adds up to after there's nothing more to add.

Be present as it happens.
