we need a Tennessee win

hahahaha....

I expect Tennessee to win this game. I said that earlier this week.

I am watching it because I wanna see just how good SC is.

Yeah, except USCar has already clinched the SEC crown, so they have at least something to brag about. If the Gamecocks lose to UTenn, they might need to win the SECT also to get a #1 seed.

Just came back from a recital, and lo and behold, Margo got it right!

I agree; we only get a one seed, now, if we win the SECT. I'll be there to raise hell next weekend.

Hang in there leghorn.

I'm sure that your coach held back some strategies. This game didn't mean much.

You have a clear path to that 4th #1.

Thanks guys, this just reinforces why I love New England so much.

Really…or did you omit the :)

This was the best game Tennessee has played this year.

The difference is Ms. Carter's intelligence and skill-set
It's her team now.
The bigs get fed.
I think they struggle with their basic sets against us…big time
Love to see it.
Can only hope.

So the #1 seeds are UConn, ND and ????????????????????????????????????????

That is really sad.

They shot 42%, 20% on 3's, 65% at the line.
I meant best overall game. The team took care of the ball. Not a lot of turnovers. No real drop off. Played hard for whole game. In ND game a great first half. Then hit a lull. I think the team has improved since that game.

I like Carter. I was saying last year she was really missed. You can see why. I still think we need Ariel for tournament.

I can't believe it..... it is end of season...and UT FINALLY put together a good 40 minute effort... Good job today.

What??!??

Gotta go clean my ears....I mean my eyes

Interesting that Staley said one of the problems SC faced y'day was the pace of the game which was too quick. ("Part of it is I thought the pace of the game was a lot quicker than we'd like to play. They forced us to play fast and probably take quicker shots than we normally take.") Teams that play at an uncomfortable pace miss shots, including shots they typically make.

Getting Massengale hurt was the best coaching move Holly had made. When Carter took over the team started to improve and that probably wouldn't have happened if Massengale was available. My guess is Massengale is gone for the year. Even if she was able to come back there is no time to get back into the flow and shake off the cob webs.

Massengale was having her best year at Tennessee. She was NCAA Player of the week. Scoring, assist was up. Having her back would give more options. If a player needed a rest or run three guard lineup ect. Carter is just getting better. Reynolds is going to be real good.

Statistically, yes, but the team was still losing games they should have won
and looked poorly even when they did win
I think it was Kara who brought to our attention
how much more efficient the team was with Carter.
Looking at it from a four-year perspective.
Massengale was heralded as the freshman who would lead the team out of the wilderness
Immediately upon entrance; was promised by Pat that she would start at once.
Taken from this perspective, her four year career must be considered a bust.
Perhaps the expectations were too high or her potential completely misunderstood.
A nice, decent player, who never became much more.
And was swallowed by the Tennessee morass of the last 6 or 7 seasons.

msf, remember that Massengale was, also, considered the answer to the failed Simmons at PG. I do agree, however, that the TN offense looked the best under Carter that I have seen it is 5 years.

I disagree that Tenn is better with Carter at the point rather than Massengale. I've been critical of Massengale's play during her first 2 years (too passive esp vs elite teams) but she was having a very good season before she became injured. Carter dribbles too much and still has much to learn about running an offense. The difference I've seen in the past couple of games was improved play of Simmons, (improved shot selection and shooting) and better shooting by Burdick at least against the weaker SEC teams. As shown again yesterday, Burdick struggles against decent athletic defenders.

Harrison, also, player very well, Cat, at both ends of the court.

Interesting as well that all of a sudden the avalanche of criticism of Holly Warwick has subsided.
