We may suck, but at least we didn't get bumped for Comic Con

I got to get to one of the tri- state Comic Con's this year. I keep missing them. Comic Con's are like geek/ nerd holy pilgrimage's.
Very important.

There was a comic con locally and it snarled traffic for a three-day weekend.

The overflow parking filled a state park near the running trails.

And every single person going to it looked like Kevin Smith, even the women.

Had to go with the one team that snaked our best recruit. Don't feel like laughing atm...

Leave the wife at home. Lotsa cosplay eye candy.

Never been, but I feel like there'd be a whole lot of this:

There was a national leather conference out here last year. It was really strange, half the city was dressed like the gimp from Pulp Fiction.

They had one at Mohegan Sun a couple years ago and my brother had a booth there. I helped him out, there was a lot of hot women dressed in sexy outfits.

What's more sad is that PC has an on campus arena it hasn't used since 1972. ComicCon is fine. The San Diego one is the real one.

So by hot, do you mean attractive, or just women who are sweaty because extra weight and vinyl catsuits aren't a smart mix?

If it's anything like a Magic gathering, I'm gonna stand by what I said.

Ah, no. I took a nephew to Free Comic Book Day a few years ago. There was a female Green Lantern there that... I'm going to stop there.

There are a few recognizable names committed to the RI Comic Con: Norman Reedus, Dave Bautista, Dolph Lundgren, Val Kilmer, Lou Ferrigno and George Wendt, among others. It's probably tougher to re-schedule all of the guests for the con than it is to move the PC game to a different venue.

These events are huge. The comic book characters, video games, movies and television, etc are just a giant part of pop culture now and it is all done in a pretty cool way that attracts tons of people. I look at my kids and their friends and they all want to play basketball, football, surf and skateboard...and they want to play video games and read comics. It's all "cool" now, when maybe once upon a time it wasn't. It's big time stuff now for sure.

Fixed it for you.
