That might not seem all that impressive, but I think it's significant. This team stays in games because their defense can make the other team go for 5 minute stretches where they barely score. It'll be important in March. If you can stay close you obviously have a shot, and I like our chances if Gibbs can really turn it on offensively down the stretch.

SMU led for only 1:59 last night, all in the first half. 5 of our 7 losses have come by 5 points or less. Coincidentally, the time in that stretch that we trailed by 9 was right at the end of the Tulsa game away, a game we seemed to have control of for a majority of it.

Side note: in the first UConn-Cincinnati matchup this season, the teams went 6:22 to 1:45 in the second half without scoring a single point between them, just to give you a sense for what we're in for tomorrow.
