I don't think you are wrong except for one point that I want to correct, UConn does not * need * a game against Duke at all. It would behoove Duke to set up a real home and home with UConn, none of this "we play at Cameron and when it's turn for your home game we play you at MSG" nonsense. If UConn and Duke had a legitimate home and home series for at least 2 years or 4 years, it would be fantastic for both schools as well as the interest of the sport.

Not defending Duke, but they have 20 conference games plus the ACC/SEC Challenge. Throw in one other event plus a MSG event and it is tough for them to schedule home and homes. Before COVID, the ACC played 18 conference games.

With the ACC down in basketball, playing a 20 game conference schedule really hurts teams' strength of schedule.

We also played 20 conference games and were in a conference challenge. Then we played in an MTE (Maui) and had 2 H&H games with Gonzaga and Texas. On the other hand Duke played a game in the champions classic and a game in the Vegas showdown and had a H&H game with Zona.

Assuming we replace MTEs with one off showcase type things then that’s the same number of high profile OOC games as Duke.

I don't care if we play Dook, but I do want home and home series against at least 2 top programs. Maybe 4, and replace those 3 games in 3 days tournaments. An MSG series is also acceptable for me

I want to move our cupcakes from 350ish to 150ish. That's how programs play the metrics game. Play a team you're supposed to beat by 20 instead of 30, and metrics tell you you're better. Whatever
