We have Nowell tomorrow

I know we rightfully mock Kansas for giving Timberlake a bag and then getting forgettable performance (except a gift foul call when they should have been set up for a big upset), but I don't think we can conclude that Timberlake would have failed here.

Cam Spencer was a perfect fit, like never will be seen again for a 1-year transfer, but it's a bit absurd to ding Hurley for prioritizing Timberlake when we actually have no idea how he would have performed here.
we have a pretty good idea that he wouldnt have been the perfect fit that cam was, that's the comp fair or not

I’m Just being snarky as I know there’s no way to know what Timberlake would have been here, but if as you say Cam was prob the best 1 yr transfer maybe ever, then why not go after Cam first?

Because Nick Timberlake committed to Kansas on April 19 and Cam Spencer didn't enter the portal until May 19

to be clear i'm not blaming hurley for going after timberlake. we needed a shooter and he was supposedly the best shooter in the portal. i'm just thankful kansas stole him.

3 minutes, did nothing (good or bad), then never seen again.

Hurley was prioritizing defense with Ross, to arguable benefit, or at least concluded that the difference on offense wasn't sufficient enough to offset the difference on D.
He was awful. He totally bogged down the offense due to his inability to separate from his defender. We were leading 20-10 when he came in and shortly after it was tied. Mahaney isn't a PG even for a few minutes. Still wondering what Dan Hurley was thinking he could put square peg in a round hole. I thought he was getting him to start at SG as I didn't think Ball was ready at the beginning of the season to do that. Either way Mahaney is a SG who can create when he is off the ball.

Think you should watch the game again. Take particular note when Mahaney played.

Not to let facts get in the way of your narrative, but he came in at 18-10 UConn and left at 20-15 UConn

If Mahaney can be slotted in against certain teams with point guards who won’t burn him and if he can get designed plays for him for open shots….I mean he is a good 3 point shooter.
