I sincerely hope we get back to the point where we once were. But after 3 years of sheer misery it seems further away each passing year.

We need as much roster turnover this year as possible. This current configuration....is just not getting the job done. We need some more guys on top of the 3 we have coming in. 2-3. Impact guys.

Hurley showed some good stuff this year. But also some cause for concern. He's been pretty bad at short turn around tournaments (Iowa, today, some years at URI). But there was some improvement (bar was low) This needs to be a huge offseason for this program. We just can't have many more years like the last 3.

UConn AD sure picked a good time to tell longtime season ticket holders and donors they have to buy seat licenses now.

Don't think AG would have made a difference. Glad we didn't try and rush him back. Still ugh

He definitely would have kept us within 30.

yeah what’s the deal with that? Is it in a story or just some people saw it?

Down 5 with Jalen shooting the front end of a 1 on 1. He misses, stands at the FT line with arms extended in a shooting pose, and UH guard Robinson out hustles the whole squad for a layup. That was essentially the ball game.

I mentally marked that moment in the game in my head and thought that was a huge turning point.. they very quickly pushed it to double digits after that front end miss and it’s was all downhill from that point..

Then he got caught in the air, turned it over again leading to a transition 3. It was over at that point. Disturbing that they quit in the second half though.

The problem with Polley is the ONLY thing he can do is shoot, and he has games like today when he can't hit the broad side of a barn. I don't think we would have won regardless, but him and CV couldn't hit ANYTHING....Jalen couldn't do it all by himself.

Polley cannot start next year for us to be a legitimate team. As of today, if everyone comes back who we expect to, I think the locks would have to be AG, CV, Akok, and Carlton. Sid needs to get way more consistent if he wants to start for us. Maybe Gaffney or Bouknight come in good enough to start as freshmen?

I think there's a pretty good chance one of Gaffney and Bouk starts. I wouldn't pencil anything in with Vital at this point.

It seems like Vital hasn't progressed much at all in his time here. When he gets hot from 3, he's a great microwave player. When he doesn't, it seems like boneheaded play after boneheaded play. He didn't show much coming off the bench this year but I hope he can figure that out for next year because that's his ideal spot in the rotation.

We have too many one dimensional players. Those kind of players are better served as bench guys. You bring those guys in for a short stint and see if that one dimension is working that particular game. Polley is a perfect example of that.

How many games did you watch this year?

Vital has progressed, but I think the biggest knock against him is what can he do if his shot isn't falling? His handles need to improve, and he needs to create off dribble.

All of them? If you disagree with what I said that's fantastic, please share your POV.

In my opinion, Vital is a one dimensional player who hasn't shown much growth at all. Against bad teams/poor defenses he gets his looks and is an effective offensive weapon. When he's not hitting his shots I tend to think he fails to contribute much otherwise on the offensive end and his defense can be atrocious at times.

If you look st what we had out there Carlton is improving but far from finished big. Polley needs to be an off the bench shooter who plays minutes when he is hitting and goes back the bench when he isn’t. Vital is a 6 th man on a good team. Cobb and Whalley are back up bigs. Basically 10 fouls. Smith is a low A10 talent and Adams is a talent without focus. Playing multiple games back to back required too much concentration for him. Bottom line is this is not a good team, probably a middle of the pack A10 team right now. Ollie took Daddy’s Jag and drove it off the end of the New Haven pier. Hurley pulled it out of the Sound this season. Gonna take longer to get the engine purring again.
