We got us a Death Storm...

Bad news in the last forecast. The storm is tracking more to the west. That means more people get high winds and heavy rains. Hopefully it turns hard right once it gets back over water.

My husband just told me that the Weather Channel is saying that the storm "will push Long Island sound into NYC". What the hell does that mean?

Means NYC is going to get flooded. All the water will spill right into the city.

NYC public transit about to be shut down for a while.

The center of the storm is ~12 hours away, and the "cone of uncertainty" is still like 500 miles wide! Thought it would be narrowing down by now.

What it means is power outages.

Got an automated message today that school has been cancelled for Monday due to the hurricane.

Wilbur Cross & Merritt Parkways are now closed.

Storm was slightly overhyped. they were calling for a foot of rain at one point

It tracked slightly more to the west than expected and was also faster than expected. Newark got 10" of rain as it was just west of the track. If it moved as slowly as expected, they would have gotten well over a foot.

we could still end up with 750,000 power outages. trees still comin' down onlines ect.

A huge tree in our backyard came down and fell across our neighbor's driveway. I'm not sure if it was my tree or theirs. I'll probably get my chainsaw out to clear it when the storm ends.

At he height of the hurricane, with the full fury of nature and Long Island Sound manifesting itself outside my back door, I'm perusing the Boneyard. Is there something wrong with that?

Just saw a Wallingford municipal truck go by with a snow plow! I assume the guy is going to push trees and branches off the road. Pretty bizarre sight for August.

Who else is without power? Mine's been out since some time before 7 this morning here in Rocky Hill. iPhone battery slowly fading... :/

If my power was out and my iPhone battery was dying I would not be browsing the BY. Just saying.

If my power was out and my phone was dying i would go charge it in my car for a time. Still have power here in southington
