The conundrum is that the optimal use of deep, non-rotation bench spots is to develop players for the future. But now players transfer when they don't play. So we have to rethink the paradigm. For the sake of conversation, exactly what kind of players should one expect to occupy the 11th-13th roster spots when a team typically runs out 10 guys at most? There aren’t many Richie Sprongs around.
Agree. With regard to my misgivings about the transfers-out, I have ordered a nice plucked crow and am prepared to eat it, but, last I checked, the only response we have to Newton ever having to leave a game is switching our starting 4 over to the point. As things stand, last year's ball-handling deficit has only deepened. We don’t need another 4/5 if we’re playing the way Hurley says he wants to play. Need two more guards…at least one of which that can play the point. Other guy can be more of a 2/3 type.

Think he will get some meaningful, albeit limited, minutes this year?Or Springs. Poor guy, I could at least get his name correct.
Ideally a freak athlete that’s raw and needs to develop skills or a player with a huge chip on their shoulder who believes they can crack the rotation no matter what..like someone with a Christian vital attitude. For the sake of conversation, exactly what kind of players should one expect to occupy the 11th-13th roster spots when a team typically runs out 10 guys at most? Well good thing 10-13 are still available. They most certainly need more ball handling. For the sake of conversation, exactly what kind of players should one expect to occupy the 11th-13th roster spots when a team typically runs out 10 guys at most? There aren’t many Richie Sprongs around.

thank you. quality > quantity. 1 more good transfer G and we have a 9 man rotation, yet people are still expecting hurley to bring in several more studs so we can go 11 or 12 deep as if the new reality doesnt apply to us even though it literally just happened w/ floyd! there's no logic to it.4* guys, even fringe top 100/125 guys, are too easy to poach now. It's just not even worth recruiting them if they're not going to play 15 min right away,
I promise that clingan springs sanogo and johnson will not all get significant minutes barring injury i ultimately expect that we about 50-60 minutes combined among them depending on how much we play 4 out. Sanogo gets 32 and then i would think 15-10 for johnson and 5-15 for clingan depending on how everyone looks. Think we have strong big dept, strong wing dept and really are just lacking a ball handler at this pointWe have a rotation of 9 scholarship players with Clingan, Springs and Karaban playing significant minutes. We need at least another combo or point.

Beyond Sanogo all of our bigs are unknowns (maybe not to Danny and staff) to us. We are also one injury away from not having a point guard, so I agree with you on the big and also a backup PGI still think we need to add a power forward defensive stopper. Maybe a poor man's Whaley; someone that wants to be towards the end of the bench, be a defensive stopper in the last 2-3 minutes of the BE championship game and on into the sweet 16/possibly Elite 8.
We need 2 more guards and one of them has to be a stud, Castle or someone else.Beyond Sanogo all of our bigs are unknowns (maybe not to Danny and staff) to us. We are also one injury away from not having a point guard, so I agree with you on the big and also a backup PG
Adama will not see 32 a game in and out - first his physical conditioning has to improve and he wont have AW there to take some of the lunch pail work off his hands. I see DH demanding an up and down court game and that takes a toll on a big. DH has to develop Clingan/Johnson/Springs very quickly based on the minimal playing time the returnees saw this past season.I promise that clingan springs sanogo and johnson will not all get significant minutes barring injury i ultimately expect that we about 50-60 minutes combined among them depending on how much we play 4 out. Ramey just released a list of schools interested in him and we're not on it.
Ever since Alleyne committed it sounds like we've backed off of just about everyone we had been pursuing. That makes me wonder if those Castle reclass rumors are coming to fruition.
