This is a wide open field and includes all sports. I would put Hoosiers in the top ten but there are so many others. I will let you know what the BY top ten list is after all ballots are cast and who had the winning ballot. Rank them in order and please, only 10.

1. Major League 2. Slap Shot 3. Bang The Drum Slowly 4. Lou Gherig Story 5. Caddy Shack 6. Looking for Bobby Fischer 7. Bull Durham 8. Field of Dreams 9. The Blind Spot 10. The Hustler..

I admit that I haven't watched that many sports movies in my life... So I'll name a top 5.

1) Major League 2) White Men Can't Jump 3) Rocky IV 4) The Bad News Bears 5) Love and Basketball

I think I've watched too many sports movies

1. Field of Dreams
2. Pride of the Yankees
3. Mystery, Alaska (a lot of people have never heard of this one, worth the watch)
4. We are Marshall
5. The Upside of Anger
6. The Waterboy
7. The Blind Side
8. Major League
9. Rocky I
10. Talladaga nights
11. 42
Forest Gump, by default cuz it only has a minor sports %, but Great quotes "He may be the stupidest SOB alive, but he sure is fast." "How does it feel to be an All American? I have to pee!"

.-.
I'm not gonna try a top 10 at the moment. First thing that popped into my head, I don't think it has been mentioned yet (unless I missed it)--Invictus.

Once again, not just my favorite sports movie, but one of my all time favorite movies period: Remember the Titans.

Other great choices:
Fear Strikes Out (Just because of WTBY connection)
Slapshot (The Hanson Brothers near the top of favorite movie characters)
The Longest Yard (the original)
Million Dollar Baby
Rocky (of course)
Cool Runnings (Jamaican Olympic bobsled team)
Brian's Song
Coach Carter (mentioned as fav BB movie)
Major League (the first)
Prefontaine (Oregon's cross country star and the start of Nike)
Caddyshack (if golf is considered a sport haha)
On Any Sunday (a documentary but wanted to include motocross - produced by Steve McQueen and stars Bob "Hurricane" Hannah." Nominated for an Academy Award.)

The Waterboy? you cannot be serious

I might have to adjust mine. Just noticed Caddyshack and Fear Strikes out. My father used to always tell me Jimmy Piersall was the best outfielder ever. He once caught a flyball behind the monuments in old Yankee Stadium. Thought of another one too, Rocket. Its about Rocket Richard in French with English subtitles. Very dark movie about the old days of hockey. And I am going to keep the waterbody on there.

.-.
I might get to 10 eventually. I don't think Moneyball has been mentioned yet.

North Dallas Forty, great movie
Bagger Vance
Ben Hur (chariot racing)
You guys got most of the other ones, but keep leaving off the greatest basketball flick.
Semi Pro

Leni Riefenstahl - Olympia 2 - Fest der Schönheit (1936)

For me, the standouts are The Hustler (if you consider pool a sport) and Raging Bull.

Fast Eddie: "What, no bar?"
Cashier: "No bar, no pinball machines, no bowling alleys, just pool... nothing else. This is Ames mister."

Minnesota Fats: "Shoot pool, Fast Eddie."
Fast Eddie: "I'm shootin' pool, Fats. When I miss, you can shoot."

.-.
My List: 1) Hoosiers 2) Field of Dreams 3) Miracle ( took my 6th grade team to see it the day before playing in the league semis against an unbeaten team and crushed them) 4) Rocky 5) Chariots of Fire 6) Glory Road 7) The Hustler 8) Pride of the Yankees 9) A League of their Own 10) We are Marshall.

Shaolin Soccer.

Good call! Such a creative film. What ever happened to Stephen Chow? He was making movies completely unlike anyone else, and then he disappeared.
