I would have shared the MOP award with Fudd and Strong....they were amazing. This game was over sometime during the 3rd quarter and if I have $5 for every time Daley used the "F" word on TV I could buy dinner for me and my friends.
KK really turned it on in the 4th, Paige gets to take a championship with her... So happy for Chen, Aubrey, Caroline and all the other would have taken chances and when through a lot to get here.

I really liked the the result. Wow. This is truly and an excellent team managed by an excellent coach.
I am glad that I got to see this championship. This brought an awful lot of happiness to me to see this happen. Now that this over and we all can savor this victory,

I'm not crying, you're crying!! This has to be the most gratifying moment for Geno and the coaching staff. When everyone else said he was past his prime, when SC and LSU started to ascend up the wbb ladder, when we had more bodies injured than healthy, when PB's legacy was being questioned, Geno summoned the basketball gods of yesteryear and showed EVERYONE that there's still something left in the tank! I have never been more emotional for a NC victory than today and I have witnessed all 12! I believe this win has given Geno the energy to stay at least 5 more years! he is the real GOAT!!

Never been prouder of a UConn team!
Wow...thanks to the team and coaches and everyone involved for this season. I have to admit that during the first quarter I toggled between the game and some Indiana Jones movie to keep my nerves in check. What a relief to not have to turn away for three quarters. Domination.

What a great team win for title number 12. The good news is the team could even be better next season. Sarah played amazing all season but really added another level in the tournament and Azzi had a great weekend too. Fun team to watch even when they are ahead by 25.

She knew the game was over after UConn took a timeout in the 3rd qtr, Geno went with his small lineup and the Huskies pulled away.

I've told this before here but worth repeating. Never cheered for the Huskies when they were rolling (broke my heart with the 04 Gophers!) but always had incredible respect and awe for the program and loved many of their players individually. The 2018 Wright Thompson piece on Geno really made me appreciate the level of greatness (I know, dumb to not have that true appreciation before) and I've pulled for them since.
But it truly went to the next level when Paige came. Being a Minnesota native, feel like I've been hearing about her since she was in elementary school though her 8th grade performance in state was first exposure to her. She got the one state title but had other disappointments there and then the day before she would have likely won a second one the season was canceled with Covid.
Have so enjoyed watching her play for UConn and reading this board these long, hard, rewarding five years. So many knowledgeable folks here. Lot of heartbreak and disappointment and the day I saw on Twitter she tore her ACL is seared in my head.
The Final Four losses to Arizona (agh), South Carolina in the title game, Iowa (AGH!). Honestly I had started thinking she wouldn't get one, too snakebitten. And felt bad for Geno too. Weird to say for someone with 11 titles but all those tight losses and I wanted him to get at least one more (not that he's done now). And now to end it like this is just storybook. Yeah I probably would have loved seeing Paige get 37 to seal it but this was an amazing victory (and she did have the region games that will live forever). And so glad it was a blowout so she could get the hug.
Man.
And weirdly, the way sports works, it's more satisfying now having Paige get the one as a senior. If she'd won as a freshman and then lost three Final Fours it would somehow feel disappointing.
So thanks for welcoming an outsider for this Paige ride and now that I've truly been exposed to all aspects of the Huskies fandom...think I'll be sticking around even as she leaves campus.
