I want these guys to rest up, watch film and keep their confidence flowing. I think this team can challenge for a spot in the Final Four and I think the last week may have given them the boost they need to get in the gym and figure things out.

Once again, JC has them playing better in March. It might not be what we wanted or expected in October but we just won 3 of 4 and nearly beat a great team today. I think they may have a run in them yet.

This turnaround happens about 3 weeks ago if Calhoun isn't hurt.

They would have won H-Syracuse, @PC, and maybe Marquette.

Win the first two, and they are 10-8 and are playing Syracuse with 40 fewer minutes--maybe they don't wear down...

Agreed. These guys will take bigger steps every day/week. They dont quite have the salt and leadership to outlast on a day like today. That is fine.

I agree. Sad way to lose today, but still a confidence builder.

I agree that they are much better...I feel like this go round made it painfully obvious that Blaney isn't a very good coach. At the very least he is not good at handling the team that another coach has built.

I'm watching the BE tournament games and I have a question. What teams have you seen in our conference so far that are definitively better than us at this point? None. We have parity of flawed teams in the BE. Cuse is 2 in the country and we just played eyeball to eyeball with them for 2 consecutive games. We should be confident especially against teams that haven't seen us.

I've been seeing posts about how uconn doesn't match up well against Cuse, but I actually think uconn matches up less well against teams like Gtown, UL, and Marquette.

Uconn hung with Cuse at Cuse until about the 6 minute mark. Were tied with them with under a minute to go at home, only to lose on a questionable tip-in dunk, tehn a no-call at the buzzer. And then you have yesterday: a game that seemed to be in uconn's hands until they got all uconn 2012 on us and made some mistakes and missed some shots. And they still had a chance with a couple minutes left.

Of course, uconn hasn't played those teams more than 1x, so we don't know how they'd play again.

But uconn got beat by those teams much more soundly than even the first Syracuse game (even though the final score was pretty lopsided).

Just a week ago, uconn had trouble beating .500 Pitt. Then needed OT to get by bubble WVU.

I don't think there are many really good teams in the big east this year besides Syracuse, but I do think that those teams above are better than uconn.

Too much experience on those teams to say that they wouldn't beat uconn most of the time.

I don't completely buy this argument. We beat Pitt, after blowing a big lead. We beat an awful DePaul team. We beat a not great West Virginia team with a miracle comeback. We lost yet again to Syracuse where we sort of combined our season long problems...blew a lead, then went long streches without scoring and couldn't make a shot late. I don't know, but to me we look an awful lot like the same old, same old. I mean it was nice to beat West Virginia but they aren't exactly 1967 UCLA and the other two were games we really should have won. Look, I'm glad we won. Glad it looks like we are NCAA bound, but I don't see this great improvement. This team just does the same things and makes the same errors over and over again, regardless of who is on the bench.

I agree. I really, really want to see them at their best. That's what I'm craving for, to see them all playing as one, with everyone contributing (anyway they can) at the same time. We are getting better and closer in the last few weeks, yet we only have 4 weeks to display the best team they have to offer. If that team shows up then we are in for another fantastic journey. Just look at our roster!!
