Now, Borges can call up video of the Outback Bowl. The result of that game wasn't what the Wolverines wanted, but they did gain 426 yards and score 28 points against a South Carolina team that finished 11th nationally in total defense and 13th in scoring defense. (It isn't the offense's fault Michigan's secondary collapsed on multiple occasions.) Most important, the Wolverines achieved that production using a quick-and-dirty version of the offense Borges and head coach Brady Hoke always wanted to run.

This spring, Borges and his assistants will install the full version of the offense the coaches always intended to run. "We're just still scratching the surface," Borges said. "We started getting back to our pro-style offense after Denard got hurt. We totally transformed."

I know it's the off season and there is not much to discuss, but I think this falls under the heading of, "No , Sherlock." But still, I wouldn't miss the game for the world, if only for the atmosphere. After experiencing how quiet 113,000 fans can be (I was honestly surprised!!), I think their fans will be taken aback at how loud 42,000 fans get.

I posted the article because it's relevant, obviously it will be a tough game

Slow news day for CNNSI?

Funny things happen in bowl games after long layoffs. Improve our offense and the D should be able to hold it's own.

Russell Bellomy tears his ACL. Freshman Shane Morris may by needed as a back-up ...michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CI…

"Michigan redshirt sophomore quarterback Russell Bellomy has suffered an ACL tear in spring practice, TheWolverine.com has learned and U-M has confirmed. Bellomy appeared in five games last season as Denard Robinson's backup, completing 4 of 21 attempts for 46 yards with four interceptions. He played the final few minutes of the second quarter and the entire second half against Nebraska, completing just 3 of 16 attempts with three picks in a 23-9 loss to the Cornhuskers."

"With redshirt junior Devin Gardner slated to start for the Maize and Blue, Bellomy was expected to compete for the No. 2 job with true freshman Shane Morris."

Lots of Michigan fans are planning on coming. Should be a raucous atmosphere. One of my friends out there said there's been discussion about the fact RGIII called UConn the "loudest" place he played at, seemingly dissing those huge "Big House" environments. It seems to be creating a mild curiosity factor and was mentioned by more than one person.

Did RGIII play the rest of his games in the library conference?

I remember RG III saying we were the most physical team but never knew he said the loudest. Wow...

I remember reading an article that quoted a Pitt coach saying we were as loud as any place he'd been. It is the fans close proximatey to the field that gives us a volume pump.

Edit: I found an old aticle where Dez interviewed RGIII and he did say the Rent was the loudest.

"When we played at UConn my freshman year, that was the loudest place I've ever been as a football player," Griffin continued. "The stands are right next to the field, it was packed, and everyone was yelling. That was probably the coolest place for me to play at aside from Texas, Texas A&M and Nebraska."

The Rent gets loud when the team is playing well. The Rent even gets loud when the team is struggling, begging the team for a big play. It's when the team continues to struggle that the Rent goes quiet. The last two years every game has been a struggle. It's choked the life out of the stadium.

Remember the game against USF in the pouring rain? Put a good product on the field and the fans will be into it. The product on the field has been a snorefest the last two seasons. And I say that as a diehard fan that hasn't missed a game since...I guess the 2007 season when I was in high school. I support the team every game but I can't blame the average fan for being flat out bored by the offense we trot out there.

I agree. Nobody wants to burn a day like that to figuratively get kicked in the nuts. That NC State was the first time I ever felt worried about the program. I was like the life had been sucked out of the place.

Remember my first real game, Pitt in first night game. Was given chairback tickets for it. Ended up standing and yelling for most of the game... totally annoying the rest of the chairback crew, but toward the end they were up too.

Michigan will be a 14-24 point favorite in the game depending on how the first games of the year go.

Benny Griner and the Baylorettes were 24 point favorites over the Louisville girls.
