Looks like 3 voters missing including a guy who had us #2 last week.

Not upset at Marquette being above us despite 1 loss, since that loss is Purdue. I’d REALLY like to beat Kansas too

Creighton slipped out of the top 10 but is still top 15. Nova really helped themselves last week and are #18. So we have 4 BE teams in the top 20

Surprised FAU is top 15 with what may end up a Q4 loss

Shoutout Colorado St. Smacked Creighton and is now a top 20 team.

MSU 6th team out after preseason top 5. Ouch.
I expected Marquette to be top 3 .
Huge win against the number 1 team expectedly came out flat against a pretty fresh number 2 Purdue team and made it one possession game . That was the most impressive feat of the tourneys. I’m sure the Purdue coach doesn’t want to see them in late March or April. I’m Looking forward to playing them during the regular season or the Big East tourney final but not in NCAA ‘, s at least not until Phoenix ,
As for us I’ll be interested in our ranking after the next 4 games and Selection Sunday .

i was rooting for marquette during maui and the 3 point shooting disparity throughout their 3 games was maddening. over those games marquette shot 22/76 (28%) from 3 while their opponents shot 21/51 (41%). hard to win when that happens.

Purdue- 10/21 47.6%; Marq- 5/17 29.4%
Kansas- 6/17 35.3%; Marq- 6/25 24%
UCLA- 5/13 38.5%; Marq- 11/34 32.4%

Feels like a total toss-up with plenty reasonable arguments for both MU and UConn at 3. MU has one loss but it’s against Purdue and they have the better win so far. Will be a total moot point as UConn controls their destiny over this next stretch.
Definitely was a toss up. They were 7 points above us in the rankings. I’m so excited to play them

There's the problem really. Marquette is good and the defense is pesky. They score off the defense and they shoot 3s. Ighodaro has really improved or their offense would be in trouble. He's doubled his ppg from 8 to 16. They really mis OMax. Joplin isn't really a substitute. It's not a very physical team and they have to live or die on those 3s.

They did indeed. They lived off of turnovers. What's your point? They aren't as good as they were last year with OMax, or won't be come March. They are a very experienced, very quick, guard oriented team. So early in the season they have huge advantages over most teams.

My post should be self explanatory. You said they have to live and die off of threes. They don't have to live and die off of threes, they were destroying your team in the lane and scoring at the rim all night while they were a brickfest from three. Here is a visual aid for you.

I said "They score off the defense and they shoot 3s." They had 20 points off of 18 turnovers. KU was awful. Not prepared for it. Even Purdue had 15 turnovers. Illinois 15. UCLA 14.

They are good. I just think they lack any real physical presence aside from Ighodaro and are a short, quick team living off of turnovers and 3s. We will see how that works going forward.

Same. UConn bias no doubt. If we beat Kansas we should jump Marquette next week.
If we beat Kansas in Kansas using the Marquette formula the voters should put us as number 1.

Wow! I can't believe we had to bounceback from losing to Penn this season.. or ...was it last season?
Wake up Seth, we're unbeaten in the last 24 nonconference games
