Among ALL CURRENT POWER 5 CONF. TEAMS ONLY (ACC, B10, B12, SEC, PAC-12) these 2 schools hold the futile record of only making the NCAA tournament one time in their school's history. Among power 5 teams they have the fewest lifetime NCAA tourney wins with zero and one. Can you name them?

Yeh I know it's kind of a weird trivia question!

Washington State has to be one of them, right? And maybe like Providence?

Washington State is correct! They are the only Power 5 school with zero wins. I didn't include the Big East in my group, so obviously Providence would be incorrect, but a good guess!

Added note; Providence has made it to 5 tourneys and actually made the sweet sixteen in '91.

Darn! Critical Reading (or lack thereof) has failed me again!

Wake Forest is correct with only one NCAA tourney appearances. Pittsburgh is actually next in line among Power 5 teams with only 4 appearances!

Another question along the same lines. Besides Wash St and Wake Forest who are the other 4 Power 5 conf. Teams who have never made it to the Sweet Sixteen? And no Pittsburgh is not one of them! Hint: 2 of them are perennial Men's powers!

Wisconsin is correct, joining Wash St and Wake Forest as 3 of the 6 teams in Power 5 who have never made it to the Sweet Sixteen. Florida, Kansas and Arizona are all good guesses though!

Kansas made it to the Sweet 16 as a #12 or #13 seed back in 2012 or 2013. Didnt they upset Delaware in the 2nd round?

Call this one a pet peeve:

"Power 5" refers to the top 5 CFB conferences. I know it is popular to also reference other sports from the Power 5 but technically what makes them a Power 5 conference is their Football programs. Being a member of a Power 5 conference does not bestow on their BB program some otherworldly stature.

I remember them making a sweet 16 once.... maybe in 1997 or 1998

I don't know about other years but in 1997, they played UConn in the Sweet 16 in Iowa City. :)
