It would help if the reporters covering WCBB were of the same quality as most of the men's games are.

I just finished reading the Yahoo Sports coverage of the holiday games and here are a couple of things that cannot happen as we complain about the Women's games being treated as 2nd class.

The women writing the story said that Nika is the first UCONN women's PG since 1999 to have three consecutive games with 3 assists or more. If that is her actual understanding then she needs to move on . As we know it was 3 games in a row with double digit assists, quite different than what was written. For non-UCONN fans reading the story, they were probably scratching their heads thinking so what-3 games in a row with 3 assists is no big deal.

She also had a valid complaint about the lack of post game coverage after the UCONN v Iowa game, and that was a correct and well documented position. Again, the devil can be in the details: one of the points she stressed should have been addressed in a better ABC network wrap up was the UCONN and Azzi F. led comback in the 2nd QUARTER. For those of us watching the game I think she meant 2nd HALF.

Mistakes like these just give more fodder to those wanting more equal treatment from the media. We are lucky to have a great group of Husky media in numerous CT outlets. Not so much in other, including national, outlets.

My guess is that it's a typo. Perhaps she meant to type 13 instead of the number 3, because single digit numbers would have been improper in that context as she demonstrated in 'three consecutive games' earlier, whereas double digit numbers or higher can be presented as digits, per Chicago, MLA and others.

And then perhaps if proof readers were still a staple in news rooms, instead of being an extinct species, it would have been corrected before it went to press.

Also, perhaps, although unlikely, a male secretary was tasked with typing the story.

Stories on men's basketball contain errors like this all the time. Not unique to the women's game. Now more than ever, speed is prioritized over quality in the mass media.

I'm pretty sure she is the first Husky with 3 consecutive games of 10 or more assists.

I actually have really like the UConn game announcers for the most part this season except the game that had 3 together which to me lends to them chatting rather than giving color to the game. The men doing the play by play are great and I sure love Lobo especially when she messes up and shows her bias for UConn :D
