I'm pretty sure that the top programs don't get paid to play, that's reserved for the lower level teams. And Arizona was paying a pretty penny when I heard a few years back. And the issue with fan bases is teams not wanting to play in an environment where they are so outnumbered. Our attendance has been in the area of 6000 for all the games so far. There is apparently a future agreed home and home with UConn. What in the heck do people want? And the issue does not apply to the other teams in mid-major conferences. Their issues are different.
