He told ESPN.com his list includes Florida, UCLA, Harvard, Kansas, Ohio State, Kentucky and UConn.

we can certainly hope, but that's a tough bunch to beat out. we will see. at least more and more top kids seem to be looking our way for 2013 and that's definitely nice to see...

he is from mass and sounds like he grew up a husky fan. He is probobly going to be the priority for us in the 2013 class.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Selden is a Mass kid. Not all the kids that go to Tilton are NE kids, but I believe he is. Proximity is on our side. I seem to remember him saying really nice things about our program.

For this program to weather the current storm and put themselves in position to transition well from the current JC to Post-JC era, they need to win the recruiting battles for the local NE talent. They didn't fare so well this past year though part of it might have had to do with passing up on some that they had some baggage type concerns such as with Noel & Ledo. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think that UConn would have taken Noel if he hadn't lost interest, but with the NCAA investigating him a while back, it's probably best he wasn't UConn bound. With Omar in the fold, the need for Ledo wasn't there. He's certainly a talented player, though he has the making of being a big time team chemistry nightmare. Dunn is another NE talent, in this instant a CT resident, but he did not fill a position of need. I was surprised though that the staff didn't press harder to land him considering you never want to lose your best instate talent who's a legit top 50 to 100 player to a border rival.

I think Selden is an important recruit to land for this program. He's listed as a 5-star shooting guard. Hard to think we'd find a better one, but maybe they will. There's a few excellent New England 2014 class recruits, which Selden was originally part of. Hopefully we'll do well with that class. Not much in the 2012 class with Drummond reclassifying to 11 and local talent Kuran Iverson going from an elite recruit to a not so much elite one. The combination of disappointing results on the court, suspect work ethics and possible character concerns, he doesn't look like such a great catch at the moment. Maybe he'd thrive under different coaching and mentoring. Size wise he's impressive, but more times that not, high potential recruits that have suspect character and work ethic that don't show the results on the court in HS often don't do it at the next level either. I'm not sure what to think about KI.

Hopefully the staff can lock up Selden soon and get the 2013 class going. So far it has been chirp...chirp...chip.

I wonder if we will see many kids from Tilton coming to Storrs after the 2 we had both ended up transferring out in less than happy circumstances.

Besides a killer center, he is the top pick for 2013.
