way OT - for quiztakers - "Nola" died

For those who take Wirechief's quizzes and may remember mention of the Northern White Rhino's - there are now only 3 left. Nola, the only one not in Africa, who lived at the San Diego Zoo, has died. The remaining 3 in Africa are elderly and the species hope (in the future) will be some sort of surrogate parenting with, perhaps, Southern White Rhino's.

Very sad to actually be able to see the end of a species.

A common occurrence. Every day up to about 200 species go extinct. They just don't make it into the news. Lots of new ones take their place.
