Just watched the replay of Michigan St. game. Getting pumped up for the weekend!!!

At about the 1:13 minute mark at the end of the game, Michigan State inbounded it under their basket. This was after the reversal of the call on OB under the State basket. The ball was thrown in, and bounced in the front court, and then into the back court, where the Michigan State player caught it.

Isn't that backcourt?

Because it wasent touched till he was in the back court

Can't be over and back if you never had it "over".

The clock doesn't start until the ball is touched by a player inbounds.

I still haven't seen the game on TV, but live it sure looked like the OB reversal should have been an over the back foul.

I know they cant go to the monitor to find a foul. But it seems ridiculous to be able to reverse a call for OB but not make a determination that it was OB on someone because they were fouled.

That call had the potential to be HUGE.

The usually only call backcourt when there is a backcourt violation.

When there isn't one, they usually don't call it.

Does that clear it up or were you wondering why they got the call right?

Where the ball bounced doesn't matter. For it to be backcourt, the MSU player would have had to possess it in the frontcourt, then take it into the backcourt. Backcourt can be difficult but it's all about the location of the player possessing the ball.

It absolutely should have been an over the back foul.
