A little more on DJB ...
She's 6'2" at least, the tallest player on either team by about 3". She was the only D1 prospect on the floor. The game was very one-sided. With about 2 minutes left, the score was 60-13.
Some excellent skills--she passes off the dribble like Magic Johnson.
Her shooting was roughly 8-20, about 1-5 from the arc. FTs were about 6-6. Her jumper is nice, with a medium height release.
Nice quickness and athleticism.
She hustled some, including to stop a fast break the other way.
At times, she demanded the ball. She played within the offense. Seemed to have a good attitude. I saw no tattoos.
She grabbed defensive boards, spun, and threw home-run passes for fast breaks. One, slightly awry was was thrown left-handed. That's impressive.
On a 2-on-1 break in the second half, she gave up the ball nicely.
She dribbled a little with her left and shot 3-4 underneath with her left.
She made some tough shots underneath and missed a number. She needs to get stronger. She's lanky, but not skinny. She's built much like Diamond.
She could be quite good, not likely a superstar. I think she's ranked about #10 in the junior class nationwide. That seems about right.
I need to note that my girls' HS hoops experience is limited: in person, 2 AA games, Kaleena as a senior, and Charde as a senior; on DVD, Maya as a senior and EDD as a junior. De'Janae is good, but not at the level of those players; however, she is only 3/4 of the way through her junior year.
She clearly has UConn potential, but is still raw. With UConn work habits and coaching, she could be very good and a WNBA prospect. I'd like to see her against better competition.
