  • We had 5 2013 draft picks from the team. That was a school record.
  • Nick Williams I believed made the redskins practice squad.
  • Smallwood is lock to be drafted next year.
  • Shakim and Geremy Davis have a good chance to be drafted
  • Chandler Whitmer is the most talented QB we have had since Orlosky
Can anyone think of a more talented UCONN team in terms of the number of NFL players and borderline NFL players on the team?

No, you're mistaken. The cupboard was bare. P had nothing to work with.

It might have been.

It was an abject study in how having good players all over the field make players seem better. Trevardo Williams makes Gratz and BWW look great. Gratz and BWW make Williams and Wirth look great.

The glaring weakness was the offensive line last year. Masters was a good player, but if you go back to the Fiesta Bowl team all five of our picks this year were contributors plus Todman, Moe Petrus, Mike Ryan, Zach Hurd, Kendall Reyes, Lawrence Wilson, Lutrus, Anthony Sherman, Kashif Moore - who I think he's still on a practice squad...these are just the names off the top of my head. I would have to say without a doubt the 2010 team was more talented. And you can't leave Teggart out either because without that kick against USF there would have been no Fiesta Bowl.

Greg Lloyd is another guy who was picked 7th round and bounced around with some teams for the last couple years.

It had a lot of talent - it was not a talented team.

I always thought the team that went to the Pizza Bowl was the most talented team.

In my opinion, for UCONN to be a very good football team, we need to have a strong O-Line and good RBs. We have had neither the past 2 years. UCONN has traditionally played solid defense, but the ball control offense of the past really helped the defense as well. We can blame the O-Line problems on scheme, coaching, talent,..., but it has not produced. The lack of talent at RB is mind boggling as PP has had the last 2 recruiting years to fix that problem. Having a fulltime tailback for 3 years that weighs 170 lbs and that doesn't break tackles and does not have breakaway speed is totally on the coaches.

I truly believe that if Edsall had stayed, we would have had a much better 2012 and 2013 football seasons as he would have addressed the O-Line and RB issues.
