I meant this year but yeah, that was a big one. March Madness always seems to be far more exciting than the football playoffs, but that's just me.

Ah. I suppose the biggest single play in the CFB landscape I can think of on short notice is the fourth-down TD pass Mendoza threw against Penn State (I think it was Penn State) to keep Indiana undefeated. But it wasn't a crazy play or anything, just a clutch one.
 
Yeah, the Mullins shot gets my vote for checking off a lot of boxes. The whole 10 second sequence is unbelievable. UConn didn’t have the ball. Got the steal. Had the perfect return pass from AK as Braylon was moving toward the hoop. Cam Boozer would have made an AK attempt pretty difficult and he made have got a hand on it. Perfect form from Braylon. Do or die!! Swish!! Stunning!! On to the FF!

The one thing about Kemba’s winner was that it was the third game of the BET. Two more wins nets UConn the tournament three seed. And they win the whole thing! A lower seed would have made it more difficult.

That said it’s still Mullin’s 1 and Tate 2 for all the reasons mentioned in the thread. Easily.

I feel like the title of this needs to be altered. Best game winner or most improbable or… Mullins and Tate are easily the most shocking, suspenseful shots we’ve had.

All things considered, I look at Khalid taking brand off the dribble to make it 75-72 or his free throws as the biggest shots. If he misses any of those, we might lose and our arrival as a champion gets delayed another 5 years.

In a “we’ve arrived” sense, I always thought Smittys “and 1” at the end of the BET was absolutely iconic. It validated everything.
 
Mark Titus is the best. He's not a UConn fan but he totally gets the program and what makes it so special. He's legit in awe of UConn basketball.

#4: Rip's was torn from in the frantic flow.
#3: Kemba's was a planned set to get the defensive switch.
#2: Tate's great was also planned.
#1: Braylon's was in the flow, pure mechanics with an all-time great give-it by Alex. To get the the Final Four, no less.

Never tire of this discussion or replaying any of those shots!
 
Much lower stakes obviously but the Shabazz game winner against Florida might have the best crowd reaction, coming at Gampel with the whole team following him out the door and the crowd going insane
 
I'm just glad my moniker has the date in it because we now we have 2 "The Shot" amazing moments in our history. I mean how many schools even have one?

This was a tough vote because Tate was the one who got it all started but Braylon's was just magic. For both games somehow I still believed we had a chance.
