UConn's coaching staff alluded to the possibility that Butler would see action earlier than originally announced, perhaps in the DePaul game if memory serves correctly.

Yet we haven't seen her, and unless I missed it, there's been no word on Butler having a set back in her recovery.

Is it possible Geno threw out a false report to complicate DePaul's and Notre Dame's game preparation?

Doubt it. As has been reported, she's medically cleared to play. Just not playing the way Geno wants her to yet.

Doubtful. It's not like him to play games.

There's a difference between needling/ goading other coaches to get the attention off of his players and using a kid to manipulate another team.

There was a comment by the announcers early in last night's game that she would not make her UConn debut because she was "continuing to recover" from her hand injury. She was on the bench but not in uniform (just like Chong). No further explanation was given. There is no point in rushing her back, especially for a game like Colgate. Since they are only 2 days apart, I wouldn't expect to see her in the FSU game, but probably she will play against LSU since that is now 11 days away.

They don't need to use these kinds of "ploys". Psychological ploys yes but not this kind, where you try to get an opponent to gameplan for a player who's not going to play.

When I observed her during warm ups, she was clapping her arm, not her hand. If she still can't clap, how would she be able to play?

Geno said in an interview after the DePaul Game that she just, "doesn't look right and when she looks right, she'll play." That's probably all we're going to get.

Gosh, maybe she shouldn't even be on the bench then. Hope Polly doesn't hit her with a high hard one after a UConn 3 and set her back till February.

No ploy I believe...............Just game circumstances dictated not using her. Plus , it gives the injury even more time to heal properly. Original prognosis was late December.
