If you compare UConn to the B1G -
61 Connecticut 88.12

1 Ohio State 946.61
3 Michigan 811.30
10 Penn State 481.39
11 Nebraska 444.13
12 Iowa 439.57
17 Wisconsin 352.67
28 Michigan State 246.56
36 Minnesota 194.94
45 Northwestern 149.51
46 Indiana 142.96
47 Purdue 132.36
54 Maryland 100.02
55 Illinois 99.55
67 Rutgers 59.28

It will be interesting to see how much the financial resources of the B1G will increase the value of the football teams for Maryland and Rutgers. Penn State and Nebraska were already so high to begin with, that B1G resources for them wouldn't have as much an impact in terms of overall monetary value of the franchise as they would for Maryland and especially Rutgers. Same could be said if UConn were ever added.

If UCONN is in the B1G and we have a decent team, I really think UCONN's value would blow up. I could see UCONN get to the value of IOWA at some point. One thing for sure is this state will support its flagship university. UCONN just need to win a few seasons and the Rent would be packed. With a B1G schedule, I think UCONN can expand the stadium to 70K and fans would come.

Looking at this list, it makes me even more pissed why UCONN isn't in the P5 when schools like BCU, Wake, Duke, Louisville, etc. are all in the P5. It is a joke. P5 is a monopoly and we are just not part of it right now. UCONN is worth way more than many of these schools but somehow we are sitting on the sideline.

And remember, this is just assessing value to UConn's football program (which is rebounding after a few down years under PP). We're not even factoring in the value of the rest of the Athletic Department, which would blow away the value some of those P5 schools that are "inside the club."

This deserves more mileage. Really incredible given UCONN is still in its D1A infancy and has solidly passed other P5 programs despite the handicap of not getting P5 support. What exactly does WVU bring to the table if not a superior football program?
I wonder how Nebraska's value has changed since joining the B1G.

Rank Program Value ($millions)
61 Connecticut 88.12
62 Boston College 83.88
63 Pittsburgh 81.91
64 West Virginia 81.80
65 Louisville 79.54
66 Boise State 73.30
67 Rutgers 59.28
68 Vanderbilt 55.64
