I agree.

It will be many, many moons before we see a kid average 12 points and two rebounds a game again.

I'm just thankful that we had the chance to see this brightest of stars burn before he had to go off to light up someone else's sky.

Pretty sure Syracuse should retire his number.

Okay, maybe his numbers are kinda pedestrian. But he must be pretty good, cause every time he makes a driving layup he does the "Stanky Leg" or some sort of arm-flexing move. Trust me, he's ready for the NBA.

fishy, try not to worry. we will all miss dion. however, triche and michael carter-williams will both be back next year to boss around your 5'-10" backcourt.;)

Brandon Triche is the Anthony Glover of next year's Big East - I think he's been in school for 11 years.

I think he has kids at Syracuse, no?

He's not yet reached Constantine Popa status.

if not, he better get started. i am pretty sure we have a rule at syracuse that we can't go a decade without a legacy recruit.

damn, I know some players that would think they should never come off the court if they averaged half that much

Maybe it was the 12 points that he put up against UNC-A that catapulted him to stardom! He knew then that he could play with anybody!

But he was only playing 24 minutes a game.

If he averaged 32 mpg, his totals could look like this:
ppg 16.6
rpg 3
apg 3
spg 2

He also shot almost 50% from the field and .360 from 3.

Those aren't AA numbers, but they are pretty good for a player on a team with a lot of guys who can score.

Waiters is strong and solid at everything, like a homeless man's michael kidd-gilchrist, but what does he have that the NBA wants?

How you dare invoke name of the legendary Constantine Popa, one of my favorite foes of all time. And perhaps the ugliest BE player ever.
How quickly you forget the legendary Mr. Pittsnogle.

I literally was surprised to hear Brandon's first name wasn't Howard. I'd been thinking I was simply confused in vaguely remembering a Triche from long ago and it was just that 'Howard' was a 5th year senior.

This is a good point. NBA is about elite skills. 6'4 combo guards who are Elite at something(playmaking, defending, shooting, etc) tend to flame out early

I'd say that his ability to finish through contact at the rim would qualify as pretty elite. Physically, this kid is built like a mini D-Wade. And he shot the ball well enough down the stretch to convince me that he might end up being a decent outside shooter in the NBA as well.

The downside is he's definitely not a PG, and he's a bit undersized at the 2. The other downside is nobody has any clue if he can play defense because 'Cuse's zone is so different from anything resembling NBA defense.

I liked him. I thought he was their best player, but every time I watched him I was surprised he was so effective because there's nothing about him that jumps out at you, other than his general dickishness.

Some of the comparisons people come up with are strange.

Yea, not even saying who's better or not because that is yet to be determined but when I saw Bradley in college and now in the NBA, Dion Waiters is not what I see. Not sure what to think of Waiters' pro prospects, like you said there isn't really any one great quality or elite skill that he has(for instance, Bradley is an elite man defender) that you can say is going to translate to the NBA. Also, I don't want to stereotype a school but Cuse has had so many NBA flameouts I tend to not expect anything from their guys anyway.
