Southern Utah & Utah Tech are leaving the WAC for the Big Sky, replacing departing member Sac St

That leaves the WAC with 3 members (AbileneC, Tarleton, & UT-Arlington).
The WAC will rebrand as the UAC (United Athletic Conf) and the 5 UAC football-only members, will now fully move over from the ASun, giving the league 7 FB and 1 non-FB schools.

The ASun will have 7 non-FB schools, and the ASun-WAC will be a 'consortium' (sort of a conference but not giving up the 2 existing NCAA bids).

With the rebrand, the 60-year old WAC name finally dies.

So with 7 remaining schools, the ASun needs to add a new, presumably non-football, member?

I think you only need 7 but not sure.

I would think if they needed another member they would’ve mentioned today that they were accepting applications.
