This is one of those things you have to check if it's coming from the Onion or not.

First thought "Garden State Brickface and Stucco". Remember those commercials? Are they sponsoring the helmets?Ridiculous. I guess that makes me old.

O yeah, I almost forgot-"Its clobberin' time!"

So what happens to all these helmets once players wear them once? Can they strip them and paint them again? Do they go to collectors?

It looks to me like an in-law's patio.

I was expecting some kind of interesting rock with marble and striations in it, maybe some chipping and cracking, etc.

Instead I got Better Homes & Gardens.

At first I thought it was pretty ridiculous but after reading how it's a stone found only in Blacksburg and is used in a lot of on-campus buildings I admit it's kind of a nice touch. As long as they don't make a habit of it.

I wish we had incorporated more of that technology, but not that design.

As I said on another post, in a few years people will look back on this era in college football uniforms like they look at the baseball uniforms of the late 1970s. A technological "advance" made dopey designs possible and teams outdid themselves trying to come up with new "cool" styles. Like this

Too bad we, and a few other schools don't have coaches like Mike Keenan, who simply refused to allow his team to wear their alternate sweater despite the disires of higher ups in the organization. The uniform in question, which no doubt many people would think was just the greatest was this gem:

Dude. Those mustard and brown padres uniforms are pure awesomeness and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. The white sox shorts, not so much.

I don't think uniforms get too much worse than these

The 70's were a confusing time, when MLB teams all looked like they were playing in beer softball leagues.
