It's great to see our voting have an effect, but can anyone explain how this really works ? I voted for Kiah last year religiously, she finished well ahead of all candidates in the voting and somehow did not win in the end.

Info from the voting page: YOUR VOTE COUNTS! Fan balloting counts for 1/3 of the total with the remaining 2/3 determined by NCAA Division I coaches and national media members. Please see the Selection Process section of the Senior CLASS Award website for more information.

Kelsey Mianto has dropped down to 15+% so she is on my vote each day now.
I actually sort of want the fan voting not to disadvantage Breanna, Moriah, or Kelsey and leave it up to the professionals to determine the winner.

I don't think percentages make any difference, only the position. Players have won before when they finished 4th in the standings with around 14% of the vote, other times players had 28% of the vote and didn't win. They must use a ranking system like awarding x number of of points for finishing 1st, a lower # for finishing 2nd, etc. It would be nice to know what they do with the fan vote. I also think Ruth Hamblin will finish first, I have been in a number of voting wars with her supporters but I can't afford the time to do that much longer.

I think that the professional voters (coaches and media) are probably much more consistent than the fans and they outweigh the fan voting by 2-1 so if they both select the same player it is unlikely that the fan voting would tip the scale - but you are right, I just checked the website and in each of the three groups a ranking is determined and a point value assigned by place and not by percentage.
