Didn’t Ross say something like “you finally got that offer” once we offered Edgecombe? Always thought he might be into us after that, but obviously it didn’t seem to go anywhere until now.

Not only can this kid light it up, but he plays with great poise. Would be a fantastic piece to land.

The kid just recently blew up. No one has been on him. So why does everyone keep writing our chances off with him when we've been aware of him longer than anybody.

I think recently blew up is kind of a reach, and ppl are probably writing our chances off because of him scheduling his officials and not including us

Obviously UConn saw him play because he was on the same high school team as Jayden Ross. He was ranked in the top 100 and then blew up over the spring and summer and rocketed into the top 10.

According to the link below UConn didn't offer him until July 1, 2023. Many other high majors offered him over the previous winter and spring, including St. John's, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Ohio St., Villanova, Miami, Indiana, Seton Hall, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St., Alabama, and Florida St. Duke and Baylor offered him shortly after UConn. Michigan and Kentucky offered in August and September.

On July 30 he gave a top 10 of Alabama, Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, St. John's, and NBA G League Ignite.

So far he's set up official visits to Florida (visited 9/16), Baylor, Michigan, Duke, Alabama and Florida St.

Still time for UConn to get him to visit. I doubt Kimani would have visited with him if there was no chance.

Totally understand, but staffs priority was Betsey, they thought they had a better shot, and now that he is probable to Cinci, makes sense we would push to VJ.

Eh their skillsets don't overlap much. Not sure this is the case but it's possible. I see Betsey as more of a 4 until he expands his skillset. Edgecombe is all guard.
 
Kimani going to watch him means the staff knows something we don’t (shocker!!)

Doesn’t mean he’s going to commit to us tomorrow, but unless they know we’re 100% dead in his recruitment then there’s no harm trying

My point was that we might not even be there primarily for Edgecombe . Or more as a courtesy visit, just in case. Jacob Ross and I'm sure some others we haven't heard of play for LuHi too. I just can't imagine a kid who lives a few hours away and hasn't visited or planned one is that interested in UConn.

Hadn't heard of the Mingos before. Looks like one of them is a top-25 player in 2026, the other a 3* in 2025. Worth keeping an eye on.

We've been in touch with Anthony before, great to see us following up.

I'm surprised no Jacob Ross... wonder if it was an oversight. he's a top-100 talent in his own right, and if he's a late bloomer like his brother, might just blow up.
