When UConn was shooting FTs in 2nd half, a tall air-filled plastic tube that waves all over the place was being used by Marquette fans to distract UConn players. It’s one thing to have signs, but that thing crossed the line in my opinion. I think Hurley should have objected, and even if he didn’t, the refs should have intervened and had it removed.

I'm used to fans waving arms, signs, noodles, etc, but I've never seen anything like what the Marquette fans had yesterday. How were they even allowed to bring that into the arena?

Regardless of efficacy, absolutely bush league for Marquette to allow that (maybe 2) in the student section.

Yeah it was one of those thingys you see outside car dealerships and the like.

It was one of these things - I brought it up in the chat, they showed it during Reeds free throws. I’m all for it - it’s the kind of creativity that makes college hoops awesome.

It was a mechanical device and therefore should have been removed. Similar to why the crowd can't have air horns, strobe lights or laser pointers. If UConn complained about it, I could just hear comments from the outside. The league or better yet, Marquette should put an end to it quickly.

Years ago there was a team that paraded out an entire show behind the opposing free throw basket. Can't remember who it was but I remember it was amusing.

Taris did seem to get spooked by it on one FT attempt. It was almost comical how both he and the ball seemed to mimick the s-curve actions of the blowup. I don't have a problem with it. If 18,000 screaming fans can't bother you, nothing else should either. Just concentrate and see nothing but the basket, whcih is what we did.

I thought it might be fans of #12 on Marquette. That, or beaker from the muppets, hard to pinpoint

I made it to "Testify in Church!" before busting up. Great bit.

And I couldn't care less about them having one in the student section. If you're shooting free throws with the proper mindset/focus, it won't matter.

Is it possible to bask in an awesome win without finding something to whine/complain about here? We're talking about wacky waving inflatable tube man being "bush league" and "crossing the line."

I need to order one immediately
Just do it!

I have one and you won't realize how badly you needed it in your life until your very own is set up, plugged in and wackily waving around in front of you.

I acted on this impulse like 6 or 7 years ago and it is a staple at our annual 4th of July lake cottage party.
He comes out for other events as well but you can always rest assured knowing that you have one at your disposal if/when the need arises.

He's a big hit for kids and adults too because you only usually see them outside businesses.
When you have your own friends can walk up to it, take selfies, dance with it, high-five each other, etc. that they normally wouldn't do with a commercially plugged in one.
