Petrino hasn't lost at home as Louisville coach since 2003. Something like 23-0.

Certainly look like they are winning this game so far.

The dude is a scumbag, but you can't argue with the fact that he just wins. I would have felt wretched about it, but there was a part deep down inside of me that wanted UConn to hire him. I'm not proud of that...

That last play...my God. Two Louisville players go for the fumble, collide, and Florida State scoops it up. I don't even know what to say.

My part isn't deep down inside. You want to play big time football you hire Petrino.

My only issue with him is my fear that he would have left here mid season if things weren't going his way or he would do something stupid and get fired. Could have just made things worse.

Jimbo has made a deal with the devil in defending/protecting Winston and the rest of the criminoles. All us forgiven if they win anNC. But what happens if your program is a pariah and you don't even make the final 4? Here's hoping we find out.

I was commenting on a hypothetical Petrino. It's not like UConn ever had the chance to hire him.

His trangressions are about average for an FBS head coach. He just was stupid enough to get caught.

Bobby Petrino is a hire you make when you have an established program looking for a quick hit. Louisville is loaded with 4-star level recruits left over from the Strong era. Unfortunately, we are not that type of program. We needed a complete rebuild from the foundation on up.

Yeah...like when he took over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, who are clearly loaded with 4 star prospects...

He took that team to 8-4 with double-digit wins over Navy and Kentucky. Don't get me wrong; I think Diaco has a lot of upside here and I think the future is bright. But let's be honest; if Petrino is the coach of UConn 2014, do you think we are 1-6 at this point? I don't...

Western Kentucky seemed to survive?

And look how quickly he left Western Kentucky. UCONN needed to hire a foundation builder, not a 1 and done. Or in his case, possibly a 1/2 and done.

Yeah, but in that one year, he would have sold multiple 4-star prospects a bill of goods, and the next guy (Diaco?) would have had an easier building job...

Winston may be a bad guy but he is a hell of a quarterback

A fun game to watch, but I have an urge to take a shower as soon as I think about rooting for one of these two teams.

To take the second point first it's fairly simple to write the contract so he can't leave mid year - if Western Kentucky can figure it out...

To the first if he leaves you better than he arrived who cares. Every football coach UConn should hire is going to have aspirations beyond Storrs.

Even if FSU wins this game and wins out I'm seriously contemplating leaving them out of the top 4. This team would get drilled by the top 5 SEC teams.

He's hardly played well tonight. That should have been pick #4.
Yeah, but what do you make of completing passes out to the flat with defenders on his back. He is a bad dude. They were down 21-0, on the road.

He's a player, no question. But he's also been pretty turnover prone this year.

You have to be kidding me. Did Louisville's defense just run off the field? That score hurts.
