There once was a man named Jay Wright
who was crowned with UConn out of sight.
Then the huskies came ‘round
Looking championship bound
and ol’ Jay Bird got spooked and took flight.

I don't know why we need a limerick
it feels a lot like a gimmick
we have the haiku,
and that's what we do,
but i'm here so i may as will mimic

In a UConn-less Big East they reigned
But now Nova is coming up lame
It was fun while it lasted
But now's time to get blasted
There's no more "It's coming." It came.

There once was a bunch of wild cats
who had, I think, three of those Nats
But like P-22
their nine lives are now through
and the Huskies still kill in the stats!

There once was a ‘Nova from Philly
Who came up when it was real chilly
They arrived on the court...
Like a festering wart
And after that it was downhilly

It was QDog that started the game day limerick
It is all about mojo and not some cheap trick
Haiku now has a friend
Try it, I do recommend
Tonight coach Hurley will order the Huskies to sic

The game’s been circled for a while
I can tell by coach’s sly smile
With a smooth Hawkins 3
I feel it could be
The next chit to add to the pile.

Anything but winning it truly abhors
In came a team from Philli
With ambitions verging on silly
But the Storrs boys simply blew off their doors.
