Victor Rosa | Page 2 | The Boneyard

Victor Rosa

Any creativity by Sammis with regards to Rosa useage has been impaired by his injury. He is the best candidate for altering his role to get more talent on the field, and opening up the offense. Many folks see that here, lets see if Sammis can see it as well, lets hope.
if Rosa can't prove himself, then it is Rosa's fault

Pass catching ability for Victor may be limited since he has a 2 week old repaired broken finger.
As one of my old coaches would say, tape an aspirin to it and man-up.

My guess is that one of the three RBs that we are using will get banged at about the time Rosa becomes available. Really nothing to fret about here.

The comment was about Rosa being exploited in a different role, and hoping the OC could see that potential. Having Edwards and Rosa on the field simultaneously along with a "running" QB would be a different look for our Huskies, creative.

"if Rosa can't prove himself, then it is Rosa's fault" I think Rosa has shown plenty in his time here. Too much missed time though, gotta be durable if you are a RB.

I'm being harsh there but I see a player that showed some good things freshman year but I would hope to see progression. If he topped out on strength and speed already then he isn't going to get much better.

I want to see him do well.

He runs into his blockers constantly. He's a high risk, but high reward kind of player.

A healthy Rosa, Edwards, Evers, Mel Brown, and Robinson is a pretty solid running attack.

I'm not sure I see Rosa getting ahead of any of the three backs we saw tonight. I'm giving Edwards a pass because he must have been banged up. They're likely going to need to get creative with how they use him because Robinson looked like RB1 and Edwards could be close too. Brown moved so well with the ball and has the same breakaway speed as Rosa.

I'll be interested to see where he fits in but tonight showed we have three really good backs.

It’s really a great problem to have, especially when they can all do different things.

Replying postgame here Patman
I’d say you were prescient in all your Rosa comments. He’s got some work to do to get more reps. I believe in him and his ability, but wow, some good ball carrying tonight!

Luck on my part. I'm mostly going on that he's been low in the depth chart despite showing so much promise. I'm trusting the coaches see something.

Again, want him to win. I'm from north central mass so I'm not tied to the whole "connecticut boy" thing but it is nice for homegrown talent to succeed here. Hell, would love for him to break out and shut me up and play sundays.

The backfield is insanely deep, and there are only so many seats at the table. Moving Rosa to a slot is probably the logical move.

I stated that Rosa shouldn’t be any less than 2nd on the depth chart before the game. Wow. I may have been very wrong. Regardless, I still see Rosa as a huge threat catching short passes for yardage after the catch. Now that we have multiple ground threats, he could be even more dangerous. We seem to have a lot of options.

I would give him some time - was it Rosa or was it the blockers last year. I am not certain. We were pretty bad last year and no one was tearing it up.

I’d like to see him work into the game and see if we can get the Frosh version of Rosa back who looked liked he might be playing on Sundays someday.

Well, I've missed a few picks this year, but I was pretty good on this one.

From the 2 Deep thread in August.

Running game looks to be in real good shape.
