WFAN will always top ESPN New York in the ratings. Its just the human nature part of it. People in NY, NJ, and CT want to hear and talk about their own teams like the Jets/Giants, Yankees/Mets, Knicks/Nets. Mike and Mike in the morning and Colin Cowheard are national shows so they will only focus on top stories for a Monday during football season. Boomer and Carton will spend the whole show talking Giants and Jets. Thats how it is with the NBA and MLB as well.

Right. But for me I like it the other way since I didn't grow up here and my teams aren't local.

I love me some Steve Somers and I don't mind Francesa, he just is what he is (not as good as when the doggie was there) and there are times he's off the charts funny on the unintentional comedy scale. Some late night FAN guys are pretty good (Neer & Page), the midday guys on the fan I don't even know their names except one of the guys says "bro" all the time. I'm still astounded that he has a paying gig in radio. Boomer and Carton can be funny, it's just not really a sports show...it's two guys shooting the veiled in a sports format.

ESPN is horrible, Greeny is intolerable and he's an in person ass to boot, Golic has potential, but the whole greeny and golic sthick is brutal, Colin I can deal with, SVP and ryan, ryen or however he spells his name are unlistenable to me.

I'm a big fan of Sirius Channel 91 (College Sports). I just can't listen too long to the afternoon drive live from Birmingham, Alabama. The banter between Alabama & Auburn fans gets old quick.

The best radio announcer that got away from ESPN was Eric Kuselius? Thank God that 1410 AM brought back his show that's on NBC Radio in the 7 P.M. timeslot. I noticed that NBC Radio also also hired former WFAN, ESPN peronality John Stashaur? (who for one season in the late 80s was the Radio voice of the Huskies)

EK from Hamden High. He was a senior when I was a freshman. Cracked me up the first time I heard him on the radio. He is really good.

Eric k will always be associated with a bad call, from my end.

Remember clear as day driving out from Chicago to south bend, and him predicting us getting crushed. Whoops. :)

I moved to Sirius Radio about 6 or 7 years ago. I supplement that with podcasts. I record then load into my car:

Tony Kornheiser
PTI
Adam Carolla
Dave Dameshek
Bill Simmons
This Week in Tech
Freakonomics
The Game
5 Live Football Daily

Never have to wish there was something worth listening to.

I have Sirius and love it and have also gotten into some podcasts recently as well.

I love the Joe Rogan Experience - its must listen to quality. Very good line up of guests and subject matter.

I intend to start the Freakonomics podcast and som tech stuff as well.

I don;t know how to down l oad them onto my phone yet. There's an app that does it automatically? I need to find this.

Yes, it's called Stitcher. I haven't tried it on my new Galaxy SIII, but it worked for my Blackberry. It burns through data if you are not on wifi, so if you have one of the new plans, pay attention. You can also download to Itunes or Kies and then copy the file to your phone.

I use DogCatcher. I've heard Stitcher was good too. You can use the settings on the app to only download or update when connected to wifi, that way you don't use your data plan.

Dan Leba(t)ard's show from 3-7 on Miami radio(I use the Tunein app on my smartphone since Internet radio is blocked at my job) is the best radio show by far that I listen to. When Stan Van Gundy joins as a cohost on Wednesday's its one of the best listens in sports, his perspective on things is great, definitely about as non PC as it gets and very real, I can see why David Stern blocked him from from being part of ESPN's broadcast team, SVG is too honest for someone like Stern who only wants company men.

WOW if you guys think the WFAN is the best right now you guys are clowns. The herd is by far the best inthe country currently. His insight if off the charts he the most honest sports guy out there. He is very unbiased I only listen to espn radio now there line up overall is the best out there. The herd i believe also is the best at saying how it is with every player and every team can't get a better opinion then his.

Francessa is intolerable as is Michael Kay (LeGrecca is only knowledgeable hockey guy in tri-state area on radio), but Boomer and Carton are hysterical in my eyes. I enjoy Golic as most have said but can do without Greenie and do miss when Eric K used to fill in.

Anyone catch Fat Boy talking about the Football HOF last Thursday and how important he is because he has a vote? He was coming off, as if he was the Gatekeeper to the Hall. My buddy and I were driving north for a pond hockey tourney and we were literally besides ourselves.
