What a stupid comment. SC had the defensive player of the year, a first team selection, and a four second team selections. Do you honestly think that Edwards should have been player of the year over Blakes and that Dawn should have been coach of the year over Shea? Sure, SC beat Vanderbilt but that doesn't tell the entire story of the Commadores season. Also, if you want to bring up wins and losses let's talk about SC's losing to Texas and Oklahoma, two teams that Vanderbilt beat fairly easily.

Dawn is at worst the second-best coach in the country, so she’s going to have a case for SEC COY just about every year, and a lot of those years she does win it. I’m almost certain Dawn is losing no sleep over it and would be the first to say that Shea’s had an incredible year at Vanderbilt.
As far as player honors, my only real gripe is Raven not being on the first team. Made second last year too with much worse stats. But I’d wondered if SC would possibly have all 5 starters honored and they were.
I support Galvan as FOY. She’s been terrific. I don’t love inefficient volume scorers anyway. But if Chavez was the sole freshman voted onto an All-SEC team, I’m unsure how she didn’t win that award. I’d be really frustrated if I was part of Oklahoma’s program.

Wasn’t Raven Defensive Player of the Conference? Part of being on these deep teams is that you often don’t get all the individual accolades that you could get on a lesser team. Good teams have off days too. Vandy did a WHOLE lot with youth, a scarce bench and the resurrection of players other teams disposed of like Pissott. 1000% deserved.

This is my only issue. I'd already said I'd vote Blakes as POY and Vandy coach as COY, but Raven deserved 1st team over a few of the names on there

I'd have had Raven over Carnegie and McGill.
Overall, I think it's ok. Big stat difference was controlling and I guess that's fine.
Betweeen you me and the fence post, Raven might be the MVP of the league, but it's ok she doesn't get that reward because it's a hard case to make on paper.
Just want to see her work pay off with a WNBA run.
