My story of telling a “foreigner “ about UCONN.
First day in Air Force navigation avionics technician school the instructor asked each of us if we “ had any college” and where. I of course said UCONN. He asked why the hell did I go to all the way to God forsaken Alaska to school. I said something like UCONN is in Connecticut. He said something like you are going to have a hard time getting through this course if you think Yukon is in Connecticut. I said yes Sergeant the University of Connecticut is in Storrs Connecticut, we call it UCONN. Well in the 1960’s we had not won our first National Championship yet so that explains it.

I wanted to tell Navigation Sergeant “Einstein” that the Yukon is actually in Canada but day one in tech school I wisely kept my mouth shut. Well until I made Sergeant.

Lucky this clown only played instructor for the intro course.

PS Sergeant Einstein was from Mississippi or Alabama….I think.
