I'm kind of envisioning Brynna Maxwell celebrating her homecoming by going off on the Huskies.

You seem to have taken a very pessimistic stance toward your Huskies, for some reason...

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the current 8 game losing streak and having just lost to the worst team in the conference...

Well UW figured out building big leads early was a losing strategy, so this is the 2nd straight game they've tried falling behind big early. Didn't quite work out last time.

How many games did they lose big leads in? Only makes sense to try to opposite strategy just as many times.

Around half a dozen times I think.

They were down 15-2 about 5 minutes into this one.

23-13 thru Q1. Sigh. I like Wynn, I want her to succeed, but it ain't happening. Giver her another year, give her 2 more years, nothing is going to change.

38-25 at the half. Exact same score as the game over in Pullman, road team leading in both. Way to represent Washington schools.

3 starters are scoreless for the Dawgs so far. This has been a HUGE problem lately. Starters just aren't bringing it. They play the bench a ton, but you still gotta get something from the players that are on the floor to begin the game. Peterson has taken a gigantic step backward this year, I have no idea what happened to her.

You're too impatient. They're clearly better than last year. Again, Wynn had to start almost literally from nothing. Mike Neighbors earned himself all kinds of bad karma by leaving the cupboard nearly bare, and the few good leftovers he did leave behind either transferred or couldn't continue for whatever reason. This year they really were knocking on the door but just couldn't finish some really critical games.

Melgoza is the only player who can score on a regular basis and she's graduating. Their offense is going to be dreadful next season. Their defense is pesky, but not good enough to overcome their lack of scoring. And Wynn isn't recruiting well enough to turn things around.

They might be better than last year, but they are probably going to end up with a similar record and finish in the Pac 12 standings. That's just not much in the way of progress.

If you gave Washington 7 points they could distribute in any game(s) during regulation this season, they could turn FIVE losses into wins and be 15-6 with a top 10 win over UCLA. Wishes, horses, beggars, etc., but @Plebe is not wrong that they've been maddeningly close a bunch of times and just fallen short a lot. What's especially weird is they tend to be streaky within games rather than across games (and especially in the second half), so fans like @nwhoopfan can barely go a single game without being left with a bad taste in their mouths. Plus, it's really hard to come down from having the highest scoring player in NCAA history lead your team to the final four for the first time in program history. I'm not overly impressed with Wynn so far, but she inherited one of the least enviable gigs in the P5.

weird, didn't see anything that looked like it would've caused an injury, but she just collapsed into her own bench

nice catch by Gigi Garcia, who has been injured her entire career

UW has hit 7 shots in a row but barely chipped away at the lead

Melgoza went back to the locker room, she just walked back to the bench. Now's she's checking in. That was so weird. She was obviously in a lot of pain, but she looks like she's moving fine.

I noticed Ola Makurat hasn’t been listed in box scores. Injured? Benched?

I've been flipping back and forth between different games. I know her PT has been way down from early in the season. Don't know if she's injured or not.

Maxwell has 100 friends and family at the game. That will bump the attendance a bit for UW.

One of the commentators just mentioned a back strain for Melgoza, don't know if that is confirmed.

Utah stretched the lead back to 11, UW just cut it to 6. Just under 5 minutes left.

Utah was up 10 again, UW cranked up the pressure and turning Utah over. 70-64 w/ 49 seconds left.

Utah fouled a 3 point shooter, but UW missed 2-3 FTs. This team just can't get out of their own way. They do some things right sometimes, but always mixed in with a bunch of mistakes.

74-65 final

Come on down Colorado, it's your turn to win in Hec Ed next.

Maybe not going off, but she led them w/ 16 points on 5-9 shooting.

3 point shooting:

Utah 11-27
Washington 4-17

In the paper today they called it back spasms.

Oh boy. From bad to worse for UW.

She returned, although she missed almost all of her shots after coming back out from the locker room. There wasn't any mention of her being day to day. But of course if she is less than 100% they are going to struggle even more to score points.
