A pretty nice effort by Camp Cupcake 3-1 versus Venezuela. Very composed. Dictated the game. They play Costa Rica on Wednesday night.

Nice to see the kid from East Hartford score in his debut, but I doubt any other top 30 national teams have guys who weren't good enough to make a high school all state team on their roster, even on the C team.

We need to dispense with this camp. Total waste of resources.

USA 3 Costa Rica 0. Nice to see our new coach is padding his record. He is also building up depth on the squad. This was a nearly flawless camp cupcake. Onto bigger and better things

Here's the highlights. Couple of nice save by Steffen.

Even in the cupcake games the difference is noticeable. What a waste of 4 years.

This squad seems much more balanced position wise than the GGG days.

You have 2 strikers, 2 RWs, plus CP and his candy up top. In midfield, 2 complete triangles that can be played 1 up, 2 up, or 3 across.

The backline is still in flux but I agree with giving shots to the ECL players, no more MLS experiments outside the ageless Tim Ream who will now be the barometer for our WC chances. If he's the legit stater at 85 years old, we are screwed. As of today, he is the best Centereach we have until someone shows otherwise. Robinson just needs to stay healthy.

In goal, I'm willing to live with Turner is he keeps playing well for the MNT but gone are any delusions he will be a Keller/Howard and steal us some matches. Poncho may be within his right to pluck someone getting real playing time in 2026.

It didn't take long but for me it's "in Ponch we trust." It's a great feeling knowing your team is coached by a true professional.

Robinson, Cardoso and Trusty pulled out due to "injury". Replaced by Jack McGlynn, Max Arfsten and Brian Gutierrez.

I think McGlynn is a an up and comer with significant talent.

They also get Adams back.

Woops….

Not a great performance. But so many empty seats.

The Federation and Berhalter really sucked the enthusiasm out of pulling for this team. I can’t even imagine what they were charging per seat.

Well a 4:00 start in LA doesn't help. Shoulda had US as the second game.

The glaring hole at 10 remains.
Well you gotta put somebody there. McKennie/Adams/Tessmann as the 3 . Not a 10 among them. Probably should have put Reyna or Luna in there as some point. You don't need two 6's and an 8 when the other team is gonna sit in a 5-4-1 low block.

Really missed Robinson. The offense for decades has relied on service from the wings into the box. As for the finishing, it just has to be better.

They let themselves be beat by late lapses by 3 levels of defense because it was still a game after 90 minutes.

There were numerous opportunities for a quality cross to find someone's head and they whiffed on all of them.

Turner is now suspect if he's not going to get club playing time. The goal was very soft.

The backline isn't going to work with Ream a year older than he is now. Time to make a switch and hope we can find a reliable pair in the next year.

Personally I think McKennie had a big miss on his header. Just put it back across the goal.

Turner has pretty much always scared me. Let's see what Schulte, Steffen or Horvath can do.

Agreed, let's let Ream go. Use two of McKenzie, Richards, Carter-Vickers, Trusty. Maybe MRobinson if he ever gets back to his old form. But pick 2 and get them working together for as many games as you can. (and hope they stay healthy)

Wow. Canada DOMINATED!

We did get to see Reyna for 20 minutes after the game was decided.

They played like it was a meaningless 3rd place game. And that seems to be part of the problem.

Poch needs to find a group of players that actually give a hoot. And if that means starting some MLS then so be it.

And you all know that it pains me to say THAT.

I’m confused though. I thought you were clear for years that our failure to hire a European coach was what was holding us back.
