USF, Rutgers, BCU?

SportsCenter mocked BCU tonight. Most schools are either football or basketball, BCU is neither.

They might be first major conference school to 0-fer in both in the same year.

Big night at the bottom as both Rutgers and BC are playing and tonight maybe BC's last best hope at getting a win.

BC tips-off at 9 PM in Raleigh against NC State who has won just 4 conference games, which is 4 more than BC.

Rutgers is saving their hope for their last game on Saturday against U Minn. The played Michigan St tough for the 1st half at the RAC and only trailed by 2 at the break, 43-41. Apparently, that was good enough and sent their defense home for the second half as the Spartans cruised to a 97 to 66 win.

BCU up by 1 pt with 1.1 seconds to go allows NC State to score at the buzzer. And it was glorious.

And the dream of an 0-fer in ACC conference play is alive. BC falls to NC state 73-72. BC lead by 7 with 5 minutes left and then re-took the lead by 1 with 14 second left only to forget to cover NC State's C/PF on a inbound pass under the basket with 1.5 seconds to go for as easy lay-up. Bad teams find a way to loose.

PS - As bad as NC State is and as bad as the visiting team is, attendance was still listed as 19,000K for the game.

PS - Rutgers may have a shot against U Minn now. The Gophers just suspended 3 players, including their leading scorer (Mason) for their last two games, including Rutgers. U Minn only has 2 B1G conference wins, which is 2 more that Rutgers, though they have not won aB1G road game this year.

And why were they suspended you ask? Well, the 3 released a se x tape on YouTube. Whoops. And of curse, we can't have a se x scandal in college basketball without the name Pitino attached to it. Pitino Jr. is U Minn's basketball coach. Can't make this stuff up
